I want to eat at LTT on Xmas Day but we arrive that day and I want to be sure we still can get in later that day for dinner. Will they let you in if they close early due to the large crowd capacity? Thanks a bunch!;) ;) ;)

No, they won't. If MK closes to guests, you can't get in even with a PS.

Thanks Lori! Boy you sure are quick! Well, I guess I better look for somewhere else. Anybody know of a buffet on Xmas that serves Turkey and Ham and is not in a park?

No. I can't unforunately. Last year, no restaurants on WDW property did a Christmas dinner per se, they did have special menus, but no Christmas dinners. I called and called last year and was told the only time they do special dinners is for New Years and Thanksgiving.

Generally, the parks will always allow WDW resort guests in when using WDW transportation. It is the non-WDW resort guests who are turned away, especially when driving to the parking areas. If you are a resort guest, Disney will not "lock you out" of any park, especially at Christmas. If you are staying off-site, the possibility is there.

I would go ahead and make your reservation exactly at the 60 day mark from when you want to eat there. Make sure you are on the phone at 7:00 AM sharp on the morning when you are allowed to make the PS. Good luck!

According to posts written by Disney CMs, the above is not true. Disney does guarantee its on site resort guests admittance to a park, but not necessarily the park of the guest's choice.

As a park approaches capacity, the first thing to close is the parking lot. Thus off site guests are the first to be denied access. If the park crowd continues to build, even the resort guest will be denied access. They are then directed to one of the other parks. FWIW, EPCOT can handle the largest crowds.

The MK is most likely to reach capacity and be closed to all comers on Christmas and New Year's Eve. I would not count on being able to get in if you cannot get there early. In 2000, off site guests were turned away as early as 10 a.m. I strongly recommend a back up plan!

Good luck!

Yup! Just to confirm what Carol said, Disney guarantee's onsite guests access to a park, but that is not neccessarily the park you want.

Having a PS doesn't guarantee you entry either.

When was the last time a resort guest was turned away from one park and directed to another?

NYE in 2000, as Carol mentioned. I can't remember exact times because it's so long ago now, but I DO recall both MK and Epcot shutting their gates early to everyone. It's a rare event, yes, and obviously park attendence has been lower in recent times, but the fact remains that if a park reaches it's maximum capacity, you will be directed to a different park, regardless of where you are staying. It's a safety issue I would imagine.
