If the theme parks are super crowded, does that mean the hotel/pools are usually quieter?

if it is sunny....no matter the temp...pools are packed by noon.....in hotter months....packed by 10:30am. stays crowded till 4-5pm.

It must really depend on what resort you're staying at, because I don't find this at all. SAB, I'd agree with, but the other pool at the BC is generally pretty quiet, even on a nice day.

I've seen some fairly empty value and moderate resort pools during the day, even when it's just slightly chilly.

I think it's totally dependent on where you stay. We were at CBR at the end of August and even in the middle of the afternoon the pool wasn't all that crowded. It was busy, but there was more than enough room for everyone there.

Quiet pools at deluxe resorts.....you are correct...always empty

But my last 3 stays were Beach Club, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Coronado Springs.....the :"main" were all packed by noon

There is so much variability at the feature pools, of all the resorts we have stayed at CBR was the only resort where we had difficulties finding two seats together most of the days we visited, it actually really turned me off of the resort in general, we were there for about a week last April. Never had an issue at least finding two chairs together at any of the other feature pools, even at SAB when the pool area in general was quite full.

I think we're all going to have different experiences with this no matter what time of day or what the weather's like.

When we stayed at Coronado for two weeks, the main pool was surprisingly empty during the day, but it was like bum soup at night. :crazy2:

The Disney resorts are almost always 85%+ occupied. They are not the driver of park crowds, as referenced by @dansdad . Bulk of crowd stays off-site.

Has not been our experience at all. When we stayed at GF in August we were often the only ones in the pool and never were there more than maybe 10 other people. This was the beach pool. We had the computer pool at Pop to ourselves two years prior in August as well. Seems that we swim when everyone else is at the parks. We would be at the pool late morning/noonish and after the afternoon storm had passed through.

We went to BC in August and the pool was never crowded and it was HOT. We took a midday break everyday at the pool and my kids spent two full days. Plenty of empty seats Everytime we were there. Same with our time at the Poly pool and CBR. Never overly crowded.

I’ve never been to a people soup pool at Disney.

On our last trip the parks were shoulder to shoulder crowded at some points but the parks and resorts were night and day. Our resort (BLT) and all the ones we visited were so peaceful in comparison. Our pool wasn’t empty but I wouldn’t consider it packed at all.

Even when the hotels are full to capacity, they’re nothing like the parks.
