If the park opens at 9, what time are you at the bus stop?

I posted this on the transportation board but didn't get many answers so I thought I'd ask here as well! Simple as the title sounds! We are staying at Coronado Springs this December and I am wondering how far in advance people go to the bus stop to make it to the park for opening/rope drop. Thanks!

We normally get to the bus stop 1/2 to 45 minutes before park opening. Have a great time. WE stayed at CSR a few years and loved it. In fact my DS's are wondering when we are going back to that resort.

I try to shoot between 8 and 8:15. I typically end up with more like 8:15-8:30, and usually miss the opening by a couple of minutes. But it does depend on where you're going. If you're going to AK, that's a longer trip from most resorts, so I'd be there by 8.

I generally like to get to the bus stop one hour before the park opens, but one day we are planning on doing the morning EMH at the Magic Kingdom...it opens at 7! I am traveling with two 15 year olds and I don't think getting them to the bus stop at 6 is going to happen! :rotfl2: SO, I just wanted to get an idea of when other people arrive. Maybe we will shoot for 6:30.

I try to get there 45 minutes before park opening (the bus stop I mean).

If we want to get there for opening, I usually make sure we are at the bus stop at least 30 minutes before. If we are staying at a more remote resort to the park we want to get to, I would probably allow at least 45mins.

I'm always worried that I am going to miss a bus by just a few seconds, so I always get there 1 hour before I want to be at the park.

I am a control freak.

Its 8:00 for us because by the time you walk get through security and get ready it usally a 15 minute wait.

When we stayed at ASMo, we got to the bus stop by 8:00. The bus arrived between 8:05 and 8:15. We always got to the gates in time for 9am opening and on more than one occasion we were the first or second family in line.

It sounds like 1 hour is a "safe" amount of time. Now I just need advice on how to get 2 teenagers out of bed at 5:30am to be at the bus stop by 6!

This will be our first trip soo excuse dumb questions. Do you go thru security before rope drop or after? Do you enter park before opening/rope drop ? We are staying at Pop so M.K. is the furthest park for us the others are quite close, so M.K. would be the earliest bus for us. I know I can count on you Dissers to fill me in on the routine..!!

First of all, there are no dumb questions!! :thumbsup2

You go through security before you even enter the turnstyles at the park (before you get to the point where you put your ticket in the machine.) At MK there is an opening ceremony at the train station. You can see this from the security area or anywhere right around there. Usually you can enter Main St. and wander around there for half an hour or so before the rope drop at the lands. We aren't usually right at the rope drop so I can't comment a lot on how that works. Maybe someone else can. But the rope drop is somewhere at the end of Main St. Have a wonderful trip!

Change all the clocks and watches so they think it is later. :teeth:

that is one of the reasons I love staying at BW

you can walk to Epcot and MGM

only have to worry about AK & MK

for me. I leave 1 hour ahead of time for MK
and AKL I just drive there

Think that's bad, imagine trying it when you live out west and you have a two hour time difference! So if you are trying to get kids up at 5:30 AM their body clocks think its 3:30 AM!!! Good luck!!!!

I would imagine 6:30 for an EMH would be fine.

We would aim for 8:15 for a 9:00 opening, off season. It's always worked for us :goodvibes

Liz thanks for inputI had visions of waiting in a security line after the rope drop. This sounds much better. I think the buses start running about 45 mins before opening so for MK I would want to catch the first bus to put us there about 30 mins before rope dropthat should be right,; the others I could probably be 10 to 15 mins later. Does that sound good??
