I spoke to Jenna this morning. She's alive and well just very busy with the kids being out of school and helping Nate Major with work. She's also got a bad case of the post Disney blues.

Poor Jon having motion sickness. How does he do at Disney?

He doesn't do any of the major spinny fast rides or coasters anyways. So, he's good. I had to knock him out on the plane though!

Jen that "magic pill" sounds fabby but are you sure your not getting Jon to wash them down with Jack Daniels

Now obviously, with regard to souvenirs and which resort we stay at post DVC, there is room to eliminate costs. The cruise portion has less room to negotiate with. If we don’t stay at the FW Cabins then we won’t have the golf cart cost. The GG and PP & P could also be eliminated.

I go for more time in WDW...but I hate cruises. Take it for what it's worth...

This is what happens when I rhuminate.



From the WDW trip, we could trim:

~ Post DVC resort. I have it priced for the FW Cabin, which looks like a lot of fun and has the Campfire thang with Chip and Dale that Chloe really wanted to do last time. Anyway we could stay at the POR again and take off the $200 for the golf cart and about $800 off the price of the room; so there's $1K right there.

~ Souvenirs could be less but I am also afraid I would be being unrealistic. Even DH has limited control once we are there. If you recall my children spent there whopping $25 DH promised them for souvenirs over 3x each.

~ Food. Once we are on our own at the resort, and not on the DDP, we could go pretty cheap on food, doing mostly all CS. because we'll be buying 10 day Hoppers when we first arrive, we'll be booking room only for the last 4 nights and won't be eligible for the DDP.

~ Skipping one or both of the extras like the GG or PP & P. There would be another $200- $400 there.

Don't skip PP&P. Trust Jen. We did it this year...and it was fabby! (ha...I used the word fabby)

I think that either way...you'll have a great vacation. Cuz you're in the world...and what's better than that!

I'd do it myself, but the laptop doesn't have the picture software anymore (long story). So, as soon as Nate has a moment to download, I'll get started.

I'll have to go back & read what I missed. The boys have a doctor's appt. this afternoon, so maybe I'll get back on later.

I am truly torn. Price wise WDW wins hands down. I can go cheaper on the resort post DVC and we won't have the DDP so that eliminates a huge portion of the cost. If we do the trip with the cruise, we are looking at least $1K more.

That's what we are hoping for! If we get them, I'll freak! However, if we don't do the Cruise, I am not sure how long Jenna and Nate will stay in WDW. Their original plan was Sun-Fri (7 days) and ours is Sun thru the following Wed (11 days).

Both GV's look gorgeous it would so amazing to stay in them . Is there an actual chance that you won't go on the cruise or are you just pretending to consider not going on it to make Michael think that you're a responsible grown up ?

As much as I'd like to say that I am just being sly and trying throw Michael off the scent, we really may not do the cruise. It's just SO much more money at this point. If we get a nice tax return then we'll be able to do it but we won't know that until early Feb. This not knowing is the anxiety that drives my trip planning!
