I'll probably be fine when I get there but I can't be bothered with all packing and stuff" . Unbelievable...I'd pack now for next year if I thought I could get away with it

I know ...she's gone a bit funny over the past couple of years (you know the type if she ended up in heaven she's want to speak to the manager ) She must be going through the change or something equally mind bending

Well with 20 days left before our WDW trip, Nate & I had some decisions to make. Over the weekend we discovered how much of a hassle it will be for the kids to go to my inlaws while we are away. Nate's sister, her DH & their kids are currently living w/ them while they were looking for a new house. Their house sold in a month which they were not expecting. Her husband had gotten a new job and they needed to move closer to his work. They still haven't found a house, but did sign a lease on a townhouse. Anywho, long story short, they are moving the week our kids are there. Which means our kids will have no fun. My DSIL is already stressed beyond belief which makes my DMIL stressed. So I think the kids would be walking on eggshells. Two years ago the kids visited and my DMIL was in the process of getting ready to sell Nate's grandmother's house. They had an awful time. Did we really want the same thing to happen?

So, what to do?
Our choices:
1. Go anyway w/o the kids
2. Go w/ the kids
3. Go w/o the kids but later in the summer (like August)

I made a phone call to DVC member services yesterday morning. I figured that would give us our answer. Remember we are in a studio and 5 don't fit in a studio.......

Oh no...well I have a feeling you won't be going without the kids (sounds like sending them to grannys house would be tantamount to child abuse with all that stress flying about ).

So I called member services & told them we needed to add our kids, but are in a studio. The rep asked how old our kids were and after I told her she said, "sorry, only 4 fit in the studio." Which I knew. So she pulled up our ressie and said something to the effect of "Oh, you are staying at the Boardwalk. Well there are some studios that have a daybed option. Let me see if one of those are available." So she puts me on hold for a few minutes and when she comes back tells me that we are all set. We still have our studio for the same # of points and our kids can join us. Well, to me that means it is meant for us to take our kids.

If we cancelled we would have had to put our points in holding and use them before Dec. Also, I didn't want to use any more points b/c we need to save them for our GV next May. So kids are coming! Since we are leaving from home, we can go a day earlier which I'm happy about. We are still working out the extra details, and I need to change our ADR's, but I feel like we've made the right decision.

I'll let you in on the extra details as soon as I have them figured out!

Yes, I had it break it to them that instead of going to Grandma's, they have to suffer and go to Disney with us.

Actually, Jon was the one I was most concerned with. He loves staying at my MIL's, and would rather go there than anywhere else. He plays cool like he could take Disney or leave it, but he's excited to go. I overheard him talking to Chris about riding RNR coaster and Everest. RNRC was closed when we were there in Sept. and it is his favorite ride. And crazy enough, Jon wants to go on the freaky clown slide!

Emma & Chris are beyond excited as they definetely have my of anything Disney. Chris is happy that his favorite ride, Spaceship Earth, will be open again too.

Big pow wow this afternoon with the other family and I don't know whether to be or ....oh well in the words of Doris Day (and my mum) "What ever will be, will be"

I've just read the last sentance and I'd like to clarify that Doris Day is NOT my mum....but a phrase my mum uses is "What's for you won't go past you" (the Scottish Doris Day if you will)

You are so right I feel that we all get on really well on this wee thread and it's sad when one of our number is missing for no apparent reason .

Becci's birthday was way back on 22March. I meant to say a while ago that it was March not May, but thank you for thinking of her honey she had a blast . How was your Anniversary, did Nate treat you like the Goddess that you are ?
