I just checked out the pics Jenny! Wow, Gabby is really starting to look grown up! (welcome to my nightmare....) The party looks like it was a lot of fun! I wish we were there, Spencer and I were asleep by 10! Keith went home earlier in the day, and the older kids had better things to do... so the two of us ate every kind of junk food we could think of, watched some movies and fell asleep :lmao: What can I say? We are party animals.

I wish you guys could have been here too! It has been way too long.

I am jealous that you got to sleep. I had a no-sleep hangover yesterday: all the headache and heartache without the fun of being blotto the night before. :headache:

Gab woke up not feeling well today. Chloe had another seizure last night- they have been increasing in frequency. :sad2: Poor kids. I am going to have to call the Neuro today.

Forget this year, you are going to WDW in four short months! I am so excited for you!

:dance3: You best be figuring out a way to come for part of the time. :flower3:

Oh no! I hope chloe is ok!

Ugh... What a rip-off!

Oh no! I hope they both feel better. Let us know what the Neurologist has to say.

Lol... we actually spent a great deal of time just the other day trying to find a way to make it work! I am hoping for a lottery win at this point, otherwise, looks like I am waiting for December. :sad2:

So I was talking with my sweet albeit MIA friend Jenna yesterday and because the pirate: & princess: Party is canceled for 2009 we are thinking about doing a Grand Gathering. We did the fireworks cruise in 2007 and it was awesome! :woohoo: The only other one that looks worth the money is the Illuminations dinner and dessert cruise.

Anyone here done it before? Is it worth the price? Any other thoughts on making Mother's Day or my birthday extra special? :surfweb: The other GGs look like something we could finagle on our own.

Haven't done the cruise but the Illuminations dessert buffet I did a few weeks ago was fantastic :thumbsup2 Oh and you get the glasses!!!!

Hello all!! Happy New Year!! As part of my resolutions, I said I would post on the pre-trippie more often. This may be one resolution that I can keep.:rotfl:

So excited that we are going to WDW in less than 6 months!!:cool1:

Now to go back 40 pages or so and catch up.:scared:

I have done it Jenny! I actually didn't love it.... the food was out on heating trays, and was not the best ever (keep in mind I like the food at Chef Mickeys so I think for you guys, it might just be inedible!) Our private viewing area was more crowded than any spot I have EVER watched Illuminations from on my own. We had to lift the kids for them to be able to see and all that normal stuff.
That being said.... I don't like Illuminations the way most other people do, so maybe it would be totally worth it for that alone if I weren't a hater! I am totally going to try the Safari GG the next time the opportunity presents itself!

Actually Jo, I saw your pictures and the desserts you got were definitely NOT the desserts they give the GG groups :sad2: Yours looked AWESOME! We didn't get anything that looked like that OR glasses...

Jenna! So nice to "see" you! Happy reading!

Glasses? Like drinking glasses or seeing glasses?

:woohoo: Hi ya!!!! :wave2: It is beyond exciting that we are going in more like 5 months!!!! I cannot wait! :hyper2:

I looked at the Safari too and I know it's for dinner but is it in the dark? If it's in the dark then I might consider it.

 You know we had 10 days on the last trip and never saw Illuminations?

Hey wait.... the P&PP is canceled? I didn't know that! Any idea why? Think they will still have MNSSHP and MVMCP?

My guess is budget cuts but I can't find why, just that's canceled. :sad1:

What is the GG Safari?

Safari Celebration Dinner
Make dinnertime an adventure with an amazing experience. Meet your tour guide in Asia at the "Flights of Wonder" theater for an exciting tour on Kilimanjaro Safaris.

After you've returned from your Safari, continue the Disney's Animal Kingdom fun in the Tusker House Restaurant with a delicious all-you-can-eat African-inspired dinner menu served family style. Dine on a full range of delectable foods that will please even the youngest members of your family. Then, have an "up-close" experience with exotic wildlife brought to the restaurant courtyard just to meet you — even get an autograph from one of the special Disney Characters who stop by the restaurant to say hello! And if you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary, family reunion or other special occasion, your Disney friends will surely add their recognition to the festivities. Theme park admission is required.

Price:
Adults and Juniors - $64.99, Children (ages 3-9) - $33.99 (available 180 days prior)

It looks fun but awful spendy for a ride you can already ride and a place you can already eat. It just doesn't seem worth the extra $$$ but if I am wrong, someone please enlighten me. :flower3:

Hmmm.....doesn't sound like it's worth the $$$$.

Jenna! So nice to "see" you! Happy reading!
 So nice to "see" you too! I miss you!! (And Keith and the kids too!)

:woohoo: Hi ya!!!! :wave2: It is beyond exciting that we are going in more like 5 months!!!! I cannot wait! :hyper2:
Yeah, 5 months.....what was I thinking? :confused3 It'll be here faster than we know it!

 You know we had 10 days on the last trip and never saw Illuminations?
I remember we were all going to meet up after Keith's birthday dinner, but dinner ran late so you missed it.

My guess is budget cuts but I can't find why, just that's canceled. :sad1:
I was really looking forward to this too! I am still holding out hope that they may bring it back.:wizard:

It sounds cool, but you are right about the pricey thing. I wonder if they do anything special on the safari. Like go to different areas. One day we were riding it and this safari vehicle full of riders appeared from one of the "side" roads. I wondered if they were doing the grand gathering.

::yes:: ITA!

Maybe you were thinking about the last time you posted on our trippie? :rotfl2:

Oh that's right. The Coral Reef completely blew it for K's dinner; no ressie, no diver, no menu. At least the manager on duty gave us a great table in front of the tank with only a 20 minute wait.

Me too but from everything I have read, it's a goner.

:surfweb: I didn't find anything but I can call and check Monday.

Have you thought about the Hoop Dee Doo or Luau? Might be another idea if the Safari GG isn't spectacular.

I can't believe we have to wait another 5 months to see you guys!

Actually Jo, I saw your pictures and the desserts you got were definitely NOT the desserts they give the GG groups :sad2: Yours looked AWESOME! We didn't get anything that looked like that OR glasses...
Really???? That's a shame as the desserts were yummy, the glasses are a new thing though so maybe they do include them now

Glasses? Like drinking glasses or seeing glasses?
You know the glasses in my TR that made the fireworks into Mickey Heads!

Did you know the Coral Reef have now stopped the diver and personalised menus :sad2:

Yep! That must have been it!;) I know I've been bad not posting. You'll forgive me though, right?:flower3:

Yeah, that was awful that you had that all planned and when you got there......nothing.

I know you will be right on it! :rotfl: It's nice having my own personal vacation planner!:lmao:

They both sound like fun, but I've heard more positive reviews on Hoop Dee Doo than the Luau.

I can't believe it will be 5 months either. I just saw in one of Nate's surveying magazines that the National convention for surveyors is being held in SLC in a couple of weeks. I told him we should go.

Did you know the Coral Reef have now stopped the diver and personalised menus :sad2:
It is sad how many things they are doing away with.:sad2:
