If SW price drops after booking, tell me what to do...

I have flown with Southwest many time, love it, but not for a long time. It used to be that you could just rebook your trip for a lower price and they would credit you the amount with no fees. Is this still true? If I book a trip now for August (prices going up ) and there is a Ding or something, can I still do it that way? Can't seem to find the info on the website. Thanks a bunch.

Just go to travel tools and then to Change flight and you will be able to get the same flights at the lower fare. You will get a credit to use within a year of the original booking date.

For the Ding fares you will have to open two windows because you will have to cancel your first reservation before you can book the Ding fare with the credit from cancelling the first one. You open two window so that you can go all the way until you have to pay on the Ding fare and then open a new window to cancel the original flight. Then you can go back to the Ding Fare window to purchase that one with the credit.

It seems as if they are still doing things as I remember, and I have previously done the "two window thing" with a Ding fare. I was just double checking that they hadn't instituted any change fees like other airlines.

Also, if I need to change a time of a flight with the same price is there any fee for that?

I am not sure if it is the same as I did this last year at this time of the year. Since then SW has changed their website, I know that you can change the dates or times when you change flight and will not be charged a fee for the change. I am patiently waiting for prices to drop for my August trip so that I can get a credit to use at a later date. Good luck!!
