What did you read about on the Disboard that you might not otherwise have know to do/look for....

If not for the Disboard, I would not have known about the Wishes cruises, and missed out on the opportunity to share a cruise with other Disers in December!

If not for this board I would not have known that I could make ADR's for before the MK opened and be allowed onto main street with no one there.

We had CP breakfast ADR's and we got great pictures of the castle before anyone was there. It is the best breakfast buffet on property IMHO

I would not have know about how great the Hoop De Do Revue or MNSSHP are! You can find out about these on the main Disney site but they don't go into the great detail that this board does!

If not for the DISboards, I don't think I would have ever tried the Dolphin. It's now our favorite hotel!

Also, I wouldn't have known about the soft opening for Expedition Everest on our trip in February.

I'm always learning new stuff here!

This is a GREAT thread!!

1. We wouldn't have tried EE, thinking it wasn't open.

2. We wouldn't have made ADR for Cinderella's Castle

3. We wouldn't have used FP so efficiently (seriously, we didn't understand how it worked until I started coming here and now I smack myself in the head over how easy it is!)

4. We wouldn't have learned the differences in some of the camping loops.

5. We wouldn't know to pull the rope over the well at Indiana Jones and numerous other little things.

I love this board.

I've been coming to this site for years now and am always finding useful information for our Disney trips. It's just a great place for Disney info.

Specifically, if not for this board, I would not have known:

(1) that I could "afford" to own a piece of the magic with DVC;

(2) exactly what fastpass is - I think I would have thought it was something you had to buy;

(3) make ADR's (used to be priority seatings) BEFORE you arrive;

(4) switching resorts in the middle of a stay to get the feel for different resorts (before my DVC days); and

(5) how to get discounts on deluxe resorts (again before DVC).

My family, friends and co-workers all come to me when anyone is planning a Disney trip because they think I'm a fountain of knowledge but it's really the DIS boards that I rely on before every Disney trip to make it a bit more magical!

I wouldn't have known about waking Tinkerbell, which my dds did this past trip, about dh being the veteran of the day for the flagpole ceremony, and about a million other little things that bring more magic into a trip!

I would never have rode up front on the monorail.

Thanks to this board, I learned how to have an excellent time at Epcot with two preschoolers. I learned where to find TONS of characters. I found out about Tour Guide Mike and found HugsForEeyore's awesome character site. I never would have known about the Family Magic Tour and would never have bothered to take my kids to Festival of the Lion King. I also wouldn't have known about the code that got me a free parkhopper plus upgrade and overall discount for my January trip. We never would have bothered to do the Fantastic Plastics (free robot) at Epcot nor would I have known about the free Disney Visa photo. My kids loved the monorail trip between the Magic Kingdom and Epcot and I never would have thought to do that without reading it here. Oooh, a biggie- I wouldn't have thought to bring a stroller for DD5. I would never have thought to do Tinkerbell gifts for the kids and that turned out to be one of the most magical aspects of their first trip, as well as a great incentive for good behavior. The Budget Boards have gotten me some great deals on "stuff" and the Trip Report Boards have provided countless ideas for what to do (and not do) with small children.

1. CROCS- my all time favorite/most comfortable shoes

2. The hidden paint brushes on Tom Sawyer's Island

3. Dole whips- yummy

4. Waking up Tinkerbell

5. the Pirate Cruise

6.Japanese candy lady

7. Picking a pearl- going to try this next trip

8. creating a robot at Epcot- son is going to try this next trip

If not for the Disboards, I would..

1. Have not known about the IllumiNations cruise, where I got to meet Big V and his family.
2. Have not gotten to ride in front of the monorail
3. Have not taken the Family Magic tour..what a great time!
4. Have not figured out why the CM was talking to everyone waiting for rope drop at Epcot... WE got to be Family of the Day!!!
5. Have not had all the info I had which made the trip a great success. Even my DH commented on what a wonderful trip it was!
6. Have NEVER knows about Pretzel Bread & Cheese Soup at Le Cellier... can you imagine???

I would never have purchased Crocs (they arrive today and I can't believe how excited I am to have these hideous cheap looking altho not cheap costing "shoes"

I would never have seen a net full of jello at muppets 3d!!

I would have ridden mission to space and ruined my entire day at Epcot

I wouldn't have spent several minutes looking for the darn ring at the haunted mansion and walked away bummed I STILL didn't find it

I wouldn't be receiving so many fun freebies as posted on the budget board

I wouldn't see 3 circles ANYWHERE.. even in Ohio.. and said to myself "oooh is it a hidden mickey??"

And finally.. I would never have taken photos of my food.. let alone EVERYTHING we ate and drank.. let alone get terribly upset if I forgot to take the photo before I started eating!

And if it weren't for my absent minded brain.. I'd have remembered so many other things to do and look for that I found on this board. I'm going to make a list so that next time (who knows when that will be) I can enjoy even more of the magic!!

* Epcot - yup in the past dd (4) and I have avoided it but thanks to all the tips and advice from fellow disers I am now actually looking forward to our time at Epcot

* The My Disney Girl Tea Party - surprise for dd

* Family Magic Tour- I am so excited about it!

* A ton of ways to enjoy the magic of Disney for our whole trip
