If Mickey Cooks It, We Will Come.. And Eat It! (NEW: WCC, Tea, RFC, CM's, & More)

I haven't eaten at EoS for a while now, but this review is making me feel that I need to make it there at least once on my trip in January! I want to try the Hawaiian BBQ sandwich with the pineapple and coconut smoothie... yum!! Looks fantastic. Great reviews so far, subscribing for the rest! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to read the rest of your dining reviews. I love your rating system, doesn't hurt that Donald is one of my favorite Disney characters. ;)

Enjoyed your review of EoS. Those smoothies look really good. I'm like your mom, I don't like too much coconut in my smoothie.

Hi all! I will reply to each of you later today I hope, but just wanted to pop in and let everyone know I haven't abandoned my reviews. Went out of town for Christmas, and then my my computer had a *minor* problem (parts of my video card literally exploded  ). I am slowly getting back online and catching up with things.

Hope to post the Roaring Forks review and the Brown Derby review sometime tonight.

Thanks for reading and commenting! :wizard:

I need to eat at Earl of Sandwich again, their sandwiches are so yummy. :goodvibes

Our family is from MD and we drove down overnight Friday-Saturday...took 2 days to drive home though. Loving your review so far, and the pictures are great.

I am hoping to fly this year!

Hi Sorcerer! I read the reviews you've written so far after finding it today, and I'm already looking forward to more! It's funny because even to this day, any time we see anything related to Donald, Weird and I both go, "Sorcerer would like this." It's a given! Hope you've been doing well :)

Hello all! I'm sorry I have been MIA so long. I've been out of town due to a family emergency. I was gone part of December and almost all of January. No computer access where I was, so that meant no DIS and no Dining Reviews.

I would look for me to reply to everyone and resume reviewing sometime Friday or Saturday. Will be ASAP; really behind on a bunch of things right now, obviously. Just got back late last week.

Hope everyone's well, and still ready for more yummy food pics! :wizard:

Hi all! It has been way too long since I last wrote a review! As mentioned before, I had a family emergency earlier and was gone most of January and part of December w/o a computer. Add that to computer problems, and a recent horrible sinus infection, and I haven't been on the DIS lately. I am back now, and ready to get goin' on some more reviews. Hopefully you all will still hang with me! Lots of cholesterol-raisin' goodness (or badness?) to come. I'll go through and reply to all who wrote later today. Want to go ahead and get this review up now. Look for my Brown Derby review late tonight! Now, on with The Shoe (my best, and only, Ed Sullivan impersonation ;) ):

Day 1 Snack: Roaring Fork

When we last left off on our tale of overindulgence, :goofy: , :earsgirl: , and myself had just arrived at the World. Our first night dinner was at Earl of Sandwich. Despite the fact that I stuffed myself silly, once we were checked into Wilderness Lodge and somewhat settled, we decided it was time to head downstairs and check out the food selections at Roaring Fork, WL's one and only counter service location. It is located in the North Wing of the Resort, at ground level. If you enter the lobby, you basically go all the way to the windows, hang a left at the Pin Trading cart, immediately turn right (you'll pass by Artist Point), continue down the sloping walkway, turn left when you're forced to, and it's directly on your left. This large sign hangs in the hallway just outside the entrance.

Once you enter, you immediately see a menu and an artifact display case. To the left is the actual CS location, and to the right is seating. Here are some pics of the area now. More will follow in a later review.

As mentioned before, we bring our own breakfast items save for a couple days, and once we leave the room for the parks, we don't come back until after closing. So, Roaring Fork isn't exactly a place we visit often. The seating area is not all that large, but there's outdoor seating available as well. That was pretty much useless the majority of our trip, thanks to the non-stop rain. It's okay though. Nothing great, nothing awful either. I'm betting it's a bit of a madhouse early in the morning though!

Anywho, we decided to each get a Mickey rice krispy treat, which I immediately ate half of once we got back to our room. This picture is actually of another one purchased from RF later in the trip, but hey-- if you've seen one of these, you've seen 'em all.

I wanted to get a refillable mug this trip and get it the first night. Last time I waited until the last few days of the trip and didn't get to use it much. Apparently I started a trend, because :goofy: and :earsgirl: decided they wanted them too. I don't have pics to share, but they are the same Celebration mugs many folks have posted on here before. I got a red one, :goofy: got a black one, and :earsgirl: got a yellow one. We used these a LOT during the trip, usually leaving them in our car at the start of a day and then filling them up at RF on our way back to our room at night, if they were still open. I recommend them for the souvenir factor as much as anything, too. After all, they have :donald: on them! ;)

The Review: The mugs were fab, and the Mickey rice krispy treat was its typical ooey gooey sugary goodness. Soda and a sugary Mickey-shaped dessert... What more can you ask for?

The Ratings:

Food: 5x :donald: Mickey rice krispy treats were fab as usual, and their fresh brewed tea (which I got in my mug) was surprisingly good. Sodas from the fountain were fizzy and had a lot of syrup in them. For what we bought, we were very pleased.

Atmosphere: 4x :donald: I've never actually eaten at this seating area; we've always taken whatever we bought with us back to the room or out to our car. Still, I really enjoy looking around there. They have American Indian displays at the entrance and just a really neat theme all around. Fits well into Wilderness Lodge, which I adore.

Cost: 4x :donald: The mug was something like $13.95 or so, I can't exactly remember. Even if you only use it a handful of times, I think it's a good price due to the souvenir factor. The Mickey treat was around $3. To me, the tightwad, that's rather horrifying, but hey... You're a captive, so what are you gonna do about it?

Overall: :donald: :donald: :donald: :donald: :donald: For what we needed and wanted to buy, Roaring Forks was perfect. Look for another actual meal review of RF later on down the line. Ratings will differ for that. More pics as well.
