Story of everyone's life....I checked our dates on Jetblue the other day and now it's up over $200 for the 4 of us.

Will the fares come back down once they go up or will they stay up? Thanks!!

They go up and down all of the time. However, the amount of seats available at that price will start to change. Keep in mind that if the price drops they will credit you the difference IF you call them. Their online system is down for the next 2 days, so lets hope there will be a new sale next week once their new website is in place. I didn't get a chance to buy my return flight for May and it went up $10 each. I'm hoping it drops again, but I'm in WDW right now.

JetBlue says no - that once a fare sells out, they move up to the next fare and don't go back down. However, they do frequently have sales.

I'm playing the waiting game with airtran the way down is 84.00 non-stop but the return flight hasn't come out yet. Dh just started a new job so when jetblue first came out with our dates it was a good price. But now it has gone up 250.00. So I'm stalking airtran right now.

I just wish I would have booked with jetblue 2 weeks ago. But I didn't know if dh was coming with us or not. I hate when things like this happen.

Forgot to add that it alwasy seem once jet blue goes up they keep going in that direction.

I am obsessive with checking Jetblue once we have our trip booked. Its kind of fun for me (in a sick, obsessed way :rolleyes1) to do this as part of my planning process. The fares do fluctuate, but the biggest drop usually happens a month or so before travel, when they have a sale.

We flew JB to MCO at Christmas time. Most of the family bought seats way ahead of time and got decent prices, but my Mom decided to join us several months later. Prices had sky rocketed to ridiculous levels in those few months but we decided to buy anyway since she really wanted to come. About a month before the flight prices started to drop. The flight to MCO dropped first then came back up, then the return flight dropped and came back up. I called each time I saw a drop and got credits back of about $200.

Speaking of JB, did anyone see their website, they are basically down for the next day while they migrate to a new reservation system, they cannot take new reservations even on the phone. I understand the need to migrate to a new system, but damn, that seems a big excessive.

Oh yes, I know all about this. I'm at WDW now and we are flying JB tomorrow. We've been told that we most likely will have to take our luggage to the airport and will be expecting long lines and waits. At least I knew about it prior to our departure. I still have my fingers crossed that curb side will not be affected (which means RAC possible). I don't like it, but it's just our bad timing. I'm glad I know ahead of time to allow extra time.

Not to the WestJet fans over on the Canadian board! 3 months after their disastrous Sabre migration the wait times still top out at over 2 hours sometimes according to FT. I had the 'pleasure' of trying to make a last minute booking on WJ after irregular ops recently - what an absolute joke. I cannot believe that customers are willing to do business that way in 2010.

If JB is only down for two days they are far better off than WJ.

I went ahead and booked for Sept at 89+taxes each way just in case the prices are headed upwards when they get their systems back up.
