HI, 3 adults going in August. We want to do Islands of Adventure and Epic. I have 2 rooms booked at Royal Pacific with the annual passholder discount, so I have to purchase 1 AP. After I purchase the AP will I get discounts on the other 2 tickets? Wasn't sure if I should just buy them all at the same time, I purchase my AP and then theirs?
Thank you!!

With the AP you get a small discount on the in person full gate price of multiday tickets. Plus you get more significantly discounted Epic tickets for you only. You'd have to activate your AP in person first before purchasing the other tickets, which you should be able to do right at the Royal Pacific ticket desk, and then just buy the discounted tickets (and your own discounted Epic ticket) right at the same time.

If you're looking at 2 day tickets then the AP discount might be the best discount you'll get on those, unless one of the authorized retailers like Undercover Tourist has a deal. Good deals on one or two day tickets are hard to come by.

ok thanks! I just purchased our tickets for Disney through UT, they have a $10 Disney gift card for each ticket purchased, so I thought that was good, but sounds like I should wait and buy the tickets at RP unless UT runs some sort of special between now and when we leave. Out of curiosity, do you know about what % of a discount you get on the tickets?
Thanks!!

Per the UOAP FAQs:
Do I get discounts on theme park tickets for friends and family?
Passholders receive up to 15% off Front Gate price of select Multi-Day theme park admission tickets (Discounts do not apply to Florida Resident Tickets. Up to 6 tickets per transaction per day; not valid for Universal Express passes or tickets with Universal Express.)

They hedge it with "up to" and "select" so it's really not much to go on. You could call and ask, they usually answer the phone pretty quickly. The gate price is generally a little more than the website price too.

There is a specific passholder discount on Epic tickets. It's fairly significant so I'd recommend it. You can buy them online.

Ok I found it-but it says pass has to be activated before purchasing discounted tickets for Epic-it gets activated after 1st use-so I guess if we go into another park than Epic, I could then purchase the tickets since my AP will then be activated. Hopefully the discount is still available come the beginning of August. I think that's how it works lol!

Once you pick up the physical AP at the ticket desk in the hotel, you can buy the discounted Epic ticket. Discounted Epic tickets are a specific perk of the APs so they'll still be around in August (the AP Epic tickets are subject to availability, which won't be a problem for August).
