which is the quickest route back to GCH? Shall we go through DCA or DTD? It's been four years since we last stayed at GCH, so I can't remember which way is shorter.

We'll be there in less than one week! Can't wait!

It would be quicker to go through DTD even if you didn't have to wait in a line to get through the turnstiles at DCA, which you will.

Of course, after arriving at the DTD entrance to the hotel you may still have a VERY long walk to your room. But I don't think that there are any rooms which would be quicker to reach by going through DCA.

It not to much of a difference in terms of distance from the DL ticket gates to the GCH Lobby whether you go through DTD or DCA (it's about 100 yards longer to walk through DCA). That being said, I do do think the DTD route is going to be faster because you don't have to deal with getting inside of DCA.

Good to know. If we're not in a hurry, we may take DCA since it'll be about the same. But if one of us needs to dash back to the room because of a forgotten item, we'll take the DTD route. Thanks!

I was curious about this as well as I try and stay at the Grand when I can so a friend and I tested which way is quicker. Starting from the middle of the GCH lobby, I took off through CA and my friend took off through DTD and we were to meet in the middle of the esplanade. We both walk at a similar pace and both made a conscious effort to walk at our normal pace. The ticket gate at GCH to CA was pretty much walk through, so no delays.

We wound up in the same spot within 8 seconds of each other with nothing that slowed either of us down.

Not a scientific method, but my conclusion is that they are the EXACT same waking time.

I have a Jawbone wristband that tracks steps now and will have to pace it out my next trip to see if actual distance is different.

Now if you are starting closer to Napa Rose may be a different outcome of course.

Interesting. Now we'll have to try that. This sort of comparison challenge would be right up DH's alley.

If DCA is open, we always go that way. Heck, even going to DL, unless its in the morning, we venture through DCA from the grand. That's why I LOVE the Grand so much (amongst innumerable other things).
