If I say it out loud, will my wish come true.. PTR May 2011(Link to TR pg41)

My new camera came today. Unfortunately they sent me the wrong color. I ordered red (which is really dark pink) and they sent me the light pink. I thought maybe I ordered the wrong color but I checked my invoice and it clearly states red. I opened the box already since the cover just had the generic silver on it. I sent an e-mail to see how much hassle it will be to send it back and get the right color. I'm not sure if I'll send it back. I was picking between the two, but I do like the darker one better. However at least it is a bit different than my other one. I have a feeling Caitlin will try to take this one once she sees it. It looks pretty cool, but it is much smaller than I expected.

This is what they sent me:

I was so excited that it got here so quickly. Ugh. I'll probably end up keeping the lighter one so I can use it sooner.

I'm sure he'll enjoy having the camera once we are in FL, but he is the cheapest person ever and just doesn't get why I wanted a new camera when I just got one two years ago.

I bet you would like having Jan. over even more than me. 1 MONTH LEFT:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I can understand that. There's lots my husband doesn't get about what things cost or what we need vs. what I want. :rotfl: I have a tendency to break cameras somehow :confused3 and the most recent one I got was very cheap. Too cheap. And I'm not at all happy it with it. Two cameras (and less than two years ago ) ago, I had a Cannon that I LOVED. It took great pictures and the wait time in between was minimal. Oh well... That's part of the reason why I think I'm going to spring for a Photopass CD. Just not mentioning the actual cost to my husband... :rolleyes1 And a month, right? Crazy.

I like it!! We gotta get Tyler a new camera, but he wants a blue one LOL so I'm on the hunt for a blue camera!!! But I do like those. Does that one have the rechargable battery, or does it take AA's? I like the ones that have the rechargable batteries, they're easier to handle LOL

I ended up telling DH about the camera since I was annoyed with the wrong color situation. Of course the first words out of his mouth were "How much was this?", followed by "Don't you already have a camera?" I told him about how it was waterproof and using it in the pool and he seemed to like the idea. He said I should just keep the light pink one since it looks like something I would buy anyway. He tried turning it on but I hadn't charged it yet since I am not sure if I am keeping it. He told me I should just charge it so we can test it out.

I loved the photopass CD. They were the only pictures that I was in. Plus they take the cutest pictures when you meet the characters. You wil get some great shots of Max!

It has a rechargeable battery. I like them so much better than worrying about buying batteries.

I am debating on whether or not to get Caitlin a camera. She uses my Canon a lot and takes pretty good care of it when using it. I might just let her use that one on the trip. I have a feeling if I get her one of her own I'll end up carrying it anyway.

I have seen some cheap point and shoots around so I might get her one. We'll see.

I like the photopass too, but there's just some pictures that they aren't around for. Like the silly in line people pictures LOL My group gets soooooo silly standing in line, and I try to catch it. Characters, yea it's really good for, and for getting pictures in front of the main icons for the park.

I love her bathing suits, but I can see why you'd be sad with this being the first year they won't be from the Disney Store!

Love the camera! We got a pink camera (darker) that's waterproof for our last trip, and I'm so glad we did! It's not only good for pools and waterparks, but in case it starts raining. I know DH would hurry to put away his precious camera and lenses, but I wouldn't want to miss out on pictures just because of a little rain! And even though you got the light pink, I think that's okay--I mean, you ARE pinkxray!

Maybe they figure that most people are miserable standing in line. I certainly wouldn't look too happy in line.

I really like how they take the shots when the kids are walking up to the characters and interacting. I usually only think to take the ones when they stop to pose.

I'm glad to hear you get use out of the waterproof camera. I didn't even think about the rain. I guess it will be neat to have on the water rides too.

I miss Caitlin liking Disney stuff. She used to have a Mickey Mouse clubhouse comforter that has now become our dogs bed. I washed it today and was a little sad , I miss those days.

Love the bathing suits -- very pretty. And that looks like a nice new camera. I'll share a little camera story with you. Our oldest son went to Nashville Christmas week (he was back before Christmas) to see Garth Brooks. He said he was going to buy a new camera to take with him. I suggested he just use mine and save the money. He said to me, "No, I want a better camera...yours is kind of cheap." I looked at him and said, "excuse me, but you bought me this camera last year for Christmas." He looked at me and said, "oh yeah, I forgot." What an idiot. Well, he went and bought a new one which takes great night shots so I am now taking his when we go to Disney. :)

:lmao:That is too funny!

At least we'll get to see some great night shots in your TR.:thumbsup2

I like the black and white swim suit too. I have never shopped at Justice. I just bought my girls some new ones from Lands End. I like that they have some that look more like clothes so the girls can wear them at AK to ride Kali.

:sad1: about Caitlin and the character clothes. My oldest won't wear them around town anymore, but can't wait to wear them at WDW. Sometimes these little girls act too big!

I like the color of your new camera. I think it is more understated than the bright one - of course that may mean that it will be easier to lose. I get my girls new disposable cameras for our trips. Often you can pick them up on sale for $2-3. They tend to forget about them for most of the stay so I would hate to pay too much for one that I just end up lugging around all of the time.

I was looking at Lands End too. They seem like they would hold up well. I'll probably get her one more before the trip from here.

I'm hoping she'll at least wear Disney clothes at Disney, but who knows with her.

Caitlin is so used to having the screen to see what her pictures look like, she doesn't like the disposable ones. Spoiled.

:cold: Once again Caitlin has a SNOW DAY! I have to say I woke up with an awful headache plus she woke up bright and early at 6:30am. It's going to be a long day.

I have been putting a lot (way too much) though into what I want this trip to be. I have finally decided I just want a fun, relaxed vacation. I don't want to worry about waking people up to get to a dinner ADR or pulling everyone out of the pool to get somewhere. I cancelled most of my dinner adrs.

Since I am giving up a few places I want to try I am going to schedule 1 dinner for me. I am thinking either Yachtsman or Flying Fish. I would love to try Il Mulino and on one of our free nights at BCV I am going to pray I can convince DH to try a walk up.

What do you guys think? I really want to try Flying Fish. It has great reviews and looks so good. Yachtsman gets some great reviews, and then others don't think it is worth the money. DH hates any type of fish and is allergic to shellfish. They do have the steak that everyone praises, but is it fair to book somewhere with such a limited selection for him? I think I could be happy with Yachtsman too. Has anyone tried either one? Maybe I should start him off slowly with the steakhouse.:confused3[COLOR="Green[/COLOR]"]

I'd like to do a trip like that, but Brandon can't live without ADR's now. Ever since that one year we did the dining plan in 2009 if I even suggest not doing it he gets all upset, he likes eating in all the different restaurants. :sad2: I mean, I do too, but sometimes it's annoying planning your days around eating. :confused3 It's going to be even harder this year because I want to spend a lot of time eating at the Food and Wine festival!

I think you should go to Yachtsman over Flying Fish, I want to try Yachtsman SO bad, everyone says it's the best steakhouse at Disney (other than that place at the Dolphin...or is it the Swan? :confused3) but I don't like the idea of using 2 credits. I don't know what I'm supposed to do about Le Cellier being 2 credits now, either, Brandon will probably die if we don't eat there twice, and I'm not wasting 4 of our 8 credits there! I'm thinking maybe one day we will eat lunch there and use a credit for that and another day have dinner there and just pay for it. I wish it was April so I could start planning!

Oh yeah-I've been looking for that Kodak camera I used to have so Caitlin could have it, but I have no idea where it is. If I find it, I'll give it to you.

I do not know anything about either restaurant but Flying Fish looks so good to me but I did look at possibly the Yachtsmen at one time. There are so many I want to et at that I find it hard to make up my mind!

I am such a planner but one day I would like to take a trip to Disney with no plans and no ADRs :scared1:. Just wake up and jump on the 1st bus to come up. Eat at whatever restaurant I can get into that day. A trip full of surprises. I had a friend who went (had never been before and knew nothing) and this is what they did. She said it was so relaxing, but they also went in mid-February. I never seem to be able to go except when the crowd levels are high!!

I think taking it easy and canceling the ADR's is a great idea. I am pretty much at that point too where I am only going to schedule a few for sure meals and the rest I will just leave up to fate.

My friend Nicki (the food porn queen) loves Flying Fish. I can't remember if her hubby has ever had a steak there though. I've read a mixed bag of reviews on Yachtsman (similiar to Narcooses)--hit or miss. The steakhouse you are thinking of at the Dolphin (or Swan) is Shula's.

I think it sounds like a relaxing way to do things! If my girls weren't so insistent on character dining, I doubt we'd bother, but it's their thing for now.
I've never tried either of those restaurants, but I've heard good things about both of them. Maybe I'll get to try them once my kids don't always want to eat with Mickey or the Princesses:rolleyes1.

I would love to do a nice dinner every night but it just seems like such a waste with Caitlin and John. We tried Le Cellier b/c I was hoping John would like it. "It was fine. It was a steak." I am afraid I'll take him to a signature restaurant and he'll try ordering a burger or something.

Since he refuses to go for 5 Years and I want to do the Half Marathon in either 2013 or 2014 you should do it with me. We could spend a couple hours running and then take a few days and eat at all the good places. (You might want to start running now)

I was just thinking about that camera this morning. I hope you find it.

Did you have fun playing with Caitlin today? She is such a cheater and she doesn't even know it. Playing board games with her drives me crazy.

I wouldn't mind having everything scheduled but I am the minority in this family. I do have a few days were we will have to do certain parks, but about half are interchangeable depending on what everyone wants to do.

I didn't give up all my adrs. I still have a few breakfasts scheduled. I figure we can do breakfast without it interfering with flexiblity too much.
