when I check-in???? Thinking about just reserving the Family Suite and adding it when I get there.

Thanks!!

I think you still have to buy a package, not a room-only reservation, to "qualify" for the dining plan. You can't add it on... they would have to cancel and re-book as a package. That means, if you try to do it when you check in, you'd incur cancellation fees.

Definitely worth a phone call or two to CRO to find out whether what you want to do is possible.

You need to have a package in order to add dining. Also you need to do this before you arrive.

I agree that you have to book it in advance. You can book your room, and add the park/dining package later, but I believe you need to do it before arrive.

In my case, we booked two nights/three days at AKL. Later, we decided we wanted the dining package, but not the length-of-stay pass. So I called and added two nights basic dining, and a one day parkhopper. Disney was able to accomodate, adding those features to our existing reservation.

We did that a couple of years ago -- had a room only reservation and when free dining came out had to cancel and rebook. Since we had to cancel the existing 2 room reservations, and then book a package, I wouldn't think you could do it at check-in without incurring some kind of penalty, but you can always try. BTW we still have 4 individual days of park entry left from that trip since we all have APs.

As other have said, the dining package cannot be added at check-in. You must add it several days prior to arrival.

I booked my room about a month ago and was told that if I decided to add a package I would need to do it no later than 45 days prior to my arrival.

Tickets, yes, dining, no. We booked room only also and I was told you must include dining at least three days ahead. In order to include dining on your reservation, you must have a "Magic Your Way" Package, which includes tickets. If all you want to add is tickets, you can do that at just about any time.
