If I rent DVC points, will I be able to charge purchases to my room?

We are looking at renting points to AKL next December for a multi-generational trip. Over the past 6 months, we've started accumulating Disney gift cards from working deals at Target. We will also have ~$700 in Chase Disney Rewards. If we rent points, will I be able to pay for my tickets, dining, and purchases at the hotel with these gift cards? I know you can if you book directly with Disney, but I wanted to make sure before we amass any more! Thanks!

Yes you can charge to the room.

It's been a few years, but we rented points for SS and I'm pretty sure we were able to charge to the room. When we checked in the front desk took care of everything for us. We only used our cc though, not sure how it would work with gc.

We rented points this past June and paid for most of our other expenses with Disney gift cards (my DH earns Disney gift cards through a bonus program at his job.) The tickets I had actually purchased in advance at the Disney Store and used gift cards to buy them. Once at WDW, I charged our meals, shopping, etc. to the room and paid the balance with Disney gift cards the day before we checked out. Worked great! :)

There's no problem doing this. I've done it when staying as my brother's DVC guest without any hitches. Just make sure that you add them to your account at some point before your charges reach $1500. That's when Disney will post those charges to the credit/debit card that you've placed on file for charging purposes.

If you are purchasing a reservation from a member ("renting points"), you will have to pay for the dining plan when you add it to your reservation. It may be better to use a single gift card instead of multiple since you need to give the number to the member and they need to give it to Member Services.

But if you are dining out of pocket, you can use those to pay for your meals at the restaurants.
