If I haven't gotten it by now, should I just give up hope??

We have booked a 2BR at VWL for the 2nd week in July. We're on the waiting list for AKL Savannah View. I booked this at the beginning of the year and was kind of hopeful that we'd get AKL. Do you think that at this point I should just give up hope??

VWL is one of our favorites, but we've never stayed at AKL and my kids would LOVE the experience!!

I think AKL will be very difficult to book a 7 month until the Kidani building opens and the "new" wears off.

Seems like a lot of people cancel just prior to the 30 day mark so you might still have a chance.

I agree. I was on waitlist for the VWL for the 3 and the 7th of July and they both came through about a week or so ago.

I know there is another thread about people being disappointed with the SV because some have major construction view and very few animals. Just something to consider.

Don't give up hope! I called to make a ressie for Memorial Weekend on 4/25 and everything was booked. So I put myself on a waitlist for all the DVC resorts across the board. After the 30 day window came and went, I started to give up hope because I figured anyone who would cancel at that point would have their points put into a holding account. But sure enough, someone must have canceled because one of my waitlists came through on 5/9 and I got a studio at SSR.

So you never know!

Thanks for the hope! I realize that there's construction going on there, but we're pretty laid back people. We don't mind. We would just like the experience of staying there. But, if not, we'll be there again! That's the great thing about DVC!! No worries!!

Have you called to double check? I just wondered because we hadn't heard but when I called, our wait list had gone through. I agree that closer til you may have good luck, but tough to say....good luck!!!

We were on a waitlist for Aug, and I actually pulled my request for a 1-BR for this reason. I would really like to stay there in the near future, but I figured I'd wait and let the construction and novelty wear off. We did get a reservation at VWL, and I've never stayed there before, so I'm very excited!!!

If you decide to stay on the waitlist, I wish you lots of pixie dust that you get your reservation.

Hang in there...we are wait listed at AKV for first week of August...I am hoping for the 30 day magic myself!! We have always gotten what we were wait listed for in the past....but it has never been at AKV
