If I have to hug one more princess, I am going to hurl!

I think it's a riot. As much as I love Disney, it's not necessarily a bad thing to poke a little fun and Disney certainly do their share of poking back. These are big businesses, first and foremost, and you can bet your bottom dollar Disney didn't say, 'Ooooh, that's mean!', they more likely said, 'Ok, what can we do to dig at Universal?' Or they ignored it altogether and put up a new ride for toddlers.

I'm so glad we have the choice of both. I'd hate to be stuck with only 4 parks when I can enjoy all 8 major parks in Orlando/Tampa. :thumbsup2

I have never seen the commercial, but DW and I are true Disney Lovers, and would not waste part of our trip to visit Universal .

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I couldn't have said it better myself. Why waste the time!!!

That being said, I must confess that we did USO once & I really didn't care for it & this past April we went down to City Walk one evening just to do something different. My DD's all said they felt like they were at a carnival. They said they didn't care if they ever went back there.

I haven't seen it and I'm glad I haven't.

There is nothing more unprofessional than one company saying negative things about another company. At my store, my employees know you never do this :sad2: - even if the customer starts the conversation. It's just wrong!!!!

Count me in I think it is in bad taste.

You know, I was going to go to Universal on our trip in a couple of weeks, but to realize how anti-Disney they are, I think I will hurl walking through their gates.

I've been meaning to bring this commercial up but i didn't know what reactions i would get. Last nite I was watching tv and i saw the commercial, i thought that since they know that disney is better and has more to offer, they would put disney down to trick people who have yet to go to disney into going to Universal. I thought that was wrong and shows what the employees at Unversal are like.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear...... :sad2:

This may be unkind of me to say, but.... Maybe if more of our little girls hugged a few more princess' we wouldn't have so many snotty little brats.

Yes, more than advocating for good parenting, 'princess hugging' is probably the answer. ;) :rotfl2:

Sorry, that was probably uncalled for. It just struck me as a very funny statement. :teeth:

PS: It was discussed to death on TPA&S a few months ago, too. *Sigh* That's why I bounced it over here (that, and the fact it isn't about theme park attractions or strategies). ;)

I also saw that commercial and thought it was in horrible bad taste. My first thought was how so many kids never get to experience WDW, and this spoiled brat is "going to hurl" if she has to kiss another princess!!! I did not like it, and I think Universal is crazy for running it!!!

I thought it was funny! We are totally Disney people, but we've been to US&IOA twice. We all laughed at the commercial. I think, for us, it was feeling like there was an "inside joke". Not many of our family or friends would understand the joke. And, it didn't do anything to change our opinion...we'll do Disney till we die, but Universal only 1 more time.

:happytv: :happytv: :happytv:

I'm 30 & still not tired of hugging princesses!!! Nor are my little girls. My husband doesn't mind hugging a princess or two either! ;)

I have never been to Universal and honestly can say I don't care if I ever go. When I am on vacation at Disney that is what I want to be doing. To me, IMHO, Universal is a leech that feeds off of Disney.

I love Universal and I agree.. we are not princess people. The ad is meant to be memorable, and BOY is it. My son and his male friends think it's cool, his female friends don't like it.

As a marketer I think it may be a bit harsh but, hey, I cringe when I see that child who can't sleep either... WHO KNEW??? To each his own.

You are so right. One of my teachers went off & opened her own studio. I have told all my employees and students NOT to talk about her or her students or to bad mouth them in any way whatsoever. We stand on our own merit & people will come to us because of the great things we do.

Universal should be thinking the same way - not bashing another company. :confused3

Hide the kids, put on your Disney colored glasses. I LOVE UNIVERSAL! It's a shame some of you arent open to new experiences. That must be some strong "STUFF" Disney puts in your water. Oh thats right its pixie dust.;) Just joking, I like both parks.

The commercial is funny. Healthy competition is the single most important reason these parks strive to be the best! We all benefit from that.

The first time I saw the commercial, I kind of gasped after I heard the girl say, "I'm going to hurl", because I knew who they were talking about, obviously.

Then, after the shock wore off, I laughed out loud! :happytv: And then I said, well, USO must be hurting to make a commercial like that. They can say whatever they want, WDW is laughing all the way to the bank!

By the way, we've been to USO.........once was good. princess: :p
