It's not actually a downgrade. I love both Disney and Universal, but I honestly feel that Universal has upgraded their attractions a lot more than Disney. Universal got rid of King Kong and added The Mummy, the greatest ride in all of Orlando! Disney got rid of Alien Encounter and added Stitch, in my opinion probably the worst attraction in Orlando while I LOVED Alien Encounter. Universal got rid of the Nickelodeon Studios because none of those kid-themed game shows are on anymore. Instead they opened a brand new Blue Man Group show, one of the best shows around the country. Disney got rid of Horizons, a fun and unique ride at Epcot, to put in Mission Space, which has killed 3 people. Universal Studios got rid of Back to the Future to put in a new Simpsons ride, one of the most popular cartoons of all time, even though I'm not a fan. Disney added ANOTHER Nemo ride and still has the completely pointless Sounds Dangerous.

It all depends on your own personal preferences, but I wouldn't say that Universal's downgrading.
What people seem to forget is that "magic" isn't real. What Disney sells as magic is nothing but man-made steel and stone. It's people that create the magic. You can find "magic" anywhere - from Disney to Universal Studios to Six Flags to your local kiddie park, zoo, aquarium, or playground. If you're with people you love and are determined to have a good time, you will and you'll create your own magic. It's sad when people say they only feel magic at Disney. If the only way you can get that "magical" feeling is if it's pre-packaged and sold to you for thousands of dollars, then it says a lot about you. These are all company's we're talking about here. Both Universal and Disney are multi-billion dollar companies, and a few people refusing to go to either won't affect them in any way. They're there to make a profit, and if selling you fake magic will do it, then so be it. It's the same in all parks.
So I say go to all the parks, milk them for all they're worth, create your own magic and have as much fun as possible. That's what going on vacation is all about! I really don't understand these feuds!!

All the parks are there to provide entertainment and fun, so just take advantage of it. Have fun! And if you're willing to let your own fanaticism (on either side) prevent you from having a good time, then so be it

I know I'll be at both resorts with my family having a GREAT time while a lot of you mope around and only look for the bad side of all the parks. No loss for me.
