If i have to cancel WDW & go a few months later, will airline change my tix??

We are planning on going to WDW in Sept, but just in case( i am hoping there will be nothing to worry about!!), if we
cannot go and are forced to go at a later date, say 6-9 months later, will the airline change out tickets or am i out
the money i paid?? We bought from Delta and did get a tix that was 8 months in advance, and i think they said on
the phone if i wanted to get a different flight, i would have to pay the going rate. Our tix only cost 185 rt before using
our travel vouchers. If we have to go later, do i notify them and get vouchers, or hold on to them and take them
when we can go and use them money ive paid toward the new airfare??? I am hoping we are still going in sept., but i
am not sure about 1 thing that will be going on at that time if we will be forced not to go.(not by our choice) thanks.

I'm not familiar with Delta's policy, but with ATA and United there is a $75 penalty fee per ticket and then the additional cost of the current airfare. Say your fare is $50 higher for your new trip dates, add the $75 to that on top of what you've already paid. If you cancel without re-booking at the time of cancellation you will receive a voucher for your origional cost of airfare MINUS the penalty fee that Delta charges.I had to do this 2 years ago on UNITED and did not re-book immediately but had 1 year from my origional scheduled flight date to apply my voucher to my new trip.I recieved great airfare by flying out on New Years Eve and actually ended up with a $90 overage! I of course used that up the following summer...sure wish I had it now!I think that's the 1 plus to booking with a travel agent vs. do it yourself...travel insurance...costs about $150 but covers your whole trip.I still do it myself tho...forces us to stick with the plans and not let anything interfere unless it's work!I hope it will all work out for you and you have a great time!

FINFAN, United's (as well as all of the full service major carriers) change fee is now $100. Don't know about ATA's.
