If I get a DVC rental, will that include transportation from airport to villa?

We're hoping to go to WDW for my four year old's birthday this November. We may be crazy, but this is the first time we've taken any of our two kiddos on a plane or out of state vacation. Just trying to work all the details out. Thanks!

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I THINK that when you rent from a member, you need to have them arrange that for you, just as you would for the dining plan. I assume you are talking about Magical Express, Disney's transportation service from the airport. And yes, it will be free. Have a great time!

You might want to post this over on the DVC Mousellaneous board.

I am a dvc member, but since we drive I don't know if you can get Magical Express to your DVC.

It definitely doesn't come automatically, I know you have to sign up for it, I'm sure other people who fly in and are DVC will know.

You can also ask the people you're renting from, they may know.

Thanks. Now if we do get the bus to the resort, do I need to have carseats for the kiddos? Will I need them on the plane? (I assume at least for the little one.)

Sorry if these are stupid questions, but this is the first trip we're taking out of state, so I'm kind of clueless.

The kiddos are 4 (turning 4 on the trip, actually) and 2.

I am DVC and we do Magical Express all the time. So I assume renters can too. The member you are renting from might have to make the request for you.

You do not need car seats on the Magical Express bus. I've never seen one in the many busses we've ridden on. If you bring it for the plane, you will probably store it under the bus. For at least the two year old, I would think about bringing it on the plane. My DD was much better when she was sitting in her car seat. She understood that she just couldn't get out and that was the way it had to be. By 4 we could amuse her with coloring books, games, etc. Now they have portable DVD players which are great on the plane if your child will wear the headphones so everyone doesn't have to listen to the movie!

The Magic Express bus will drop you off at your check in. Depending on the resort, you might want to have bell services help you to your room if you have a lot of luggage. You can gate check a double stroller if you are bringing one and that will make getting around the resort at check in much easier.

It will be several hours before you get your luggage. And depending on what time you arrive, you may not be able to get into your villa. If you don't plan to do a park on arrival day, you can bring swimsuits, etc in your carryons and change at the pool. Even if your room isn't ready, you can use the pool and stuff. Bell services will also store your carry on luggage if you do want to head out to a park. We've had great luck doing that!

Hope you have a great first trip.

I have rented DVC points 4 times in the past. You can use magic express service. The person you rent from must make these reservations for you. Just provide them with your flight and time information.

We did this each time and have never had a problem. Just make sure the details are correct when your ME package arrives in the mail.
All of your paperwork will come to your home address, not the person whose points you are using.

Yes you can use ME. Also, you can get the dining plan (but ALWAYS have to pay for it). Both have to be arranged by the owner, and you will not be able to contact member services if you have to change arrangements - your member will need to call them.

You want to rent those points now, and be prepared for limited availability. DVC ususually operates at capacity, and some dates in October, November and December are completely booked up already.

Make sure to read the stickies on the rent trade board and understand what renting points entails. Understand what you are getting and are not getting renting points (you aren't getting very flexible cancellation - it will vary by member, but it won't be CROs cancellation policies).
