If I drop my rental off and stay 2 nights, can I take the Magical bus to the airport

We will be visiting family in FLorida and renting a car for a few days. Our last 2 days we will be at Disney have no desire to go anywhere but the airport after our 2 night stay at a Disney resort.

Would we be able to just job on a Disney bus and take it to the airport, or will we be charged?

You should have no problem doing this. Just make a one-way DME reservation from resort to airport. I did this once when I met met family at the resort after being in Orlando for a convention a few days before. While I took a cab from the convention to the resort, I took DME back to the airport with my family without an issue.

Yes, you can definitely have Disney give you a ride back to the airport. HOWEVER...

1) You don't just "hop on a bus". You must reserve your slot, and you will be assigned a pickup time 3 hours before your flight (+/- 15 minutes).
2) Disney's Magical Express only services Orlando International Airport (MCO). If you're flying out of Sanford, you have to arrange your own transportation.

No problem at all. As long as you have an active resort reservation, and you made your DME reservation, you're good to go.
You can even drop the car off at MCO and take DME to your resort if you want. If you just want the return DME trip, no problem. Just be sure you have a reservation.
