If I change the times on my car ressie, will it mess up the great rate I have?

I got a great rate through Budget as follows:

Pick-up MCO then return to Cape Canaveral (Cocoa Beach)
11-11 5:00pm to 11-14 11:00am (3-day rental)
Ford Explorer
$97.49 incl taxes/fees/etc. using Costco code & Costco $15 off coupon

Now American has changed our flight and instead of arriving at 4:45pm we will get to MCO about 1:00pm. If I got into my Budget ressie and change the p/u time, will it affect the rate? I am afraid to do this because of the horror stories of people losing their rates when they make a change.

I cannot make a new ressie as the rate I have is no longer available.

Any advice or suggestions? Thanx in advance for any and all!

Try calling Budget. They should let you change the time without any problem. If they can't fix the time, leave it and simply arrive "early."

Leave it as is, I don't think it will matter much if at all. We left 3 days early and they simply pro-rated our bill (saviing us $45). Things happen where people's flights change all the time and they understand this...

You should be able to go into your reservation and just change the dates. If you don't confirm your changes it would stay as it was. You should be able to see the rates before you confirm the new times.

Another thing to remember is that if you've given your flight number to Budget already, so they shluld be able to tell that you are coming in earlier and adjust things.

I would try to make a new ressie with the same codes and coupon, and if it comes out at the same rate with your new times, then go ahead and cancel the old one. Otherwise just arrive early. I wouldn't try to change the current ressie online because you never know what can happen - I've heard stories too.

I have been known to show up early when I got to fly standby on an earlier flight. It has never been a problem.

Well here is an update:

I went online to Budget and tried to change the ressie. It turns out that once they email you the confirmation (which they had to me) you can't make any changes online; you can only "review" your ressie.

So I crossed my fingers and called Budget and they made the change without effecting the rate. I also had them note the change in flight numbers for our arrival. While still on the phone, I hit the reload button for my ressie on the computer and the change was reflected instantaneously.

Interestingly, I told them to change my p/u time to 1:00pm. When she then noted my new flight number, the system now actually shows the flight arrival time of 12:53pm as my p/u time.
