If I arrive early, do they let you park in the overflow area?

We stayed at koa north of Atlanta and they let us pull in after hours so hoping this one might too.

I am coming in for the 24 hour party. We only got the cabin to nap during the party and for free parking. Can we go in at 5am and get our parking permit and leave our car in the lot during the party till our nap?

When I drove down to WDW in November 2014, we stopped at the KOA Kingsland, GA (Exit 1? on I95 South) We were 3 hours from the gates of the WDW property. It was easy on/ off. Pull Thru sites. For a KoA cheap. I think it was 33 bucks for the night. There is a Cracker Barrel about 3 miles going North on 95 for Breakfast. I did notice the rest stops were patrolled/ monitored in Florida so said the signs but then again you are in rest stop on the side of the highway If you are comfortable with that it's an option. When we lived in RI, we would always stay at the KOA Kingsland, GA. It didn't matter what time we checked in. If no one was there, we went in and took a pull through and paid up in the morning. On the way down we would sing Georgia On My Mind because we knew when we hit Kingsland GA we would really be starting our adventure. It's great to wake up there and know you only have a 3 hr drive to the Fort. Shower, breakfast and you're refreshed.

Did they have gates blocking entry after hours. We're not sure what time we would arrive if we stayed there.

IIRC, I do not believe so and I didn't see anything. We rolled in around 11PM. I just left the slip at the door on which site and I would settle up in the AM since I was not interested in trying to fumble with some money at 11PM. Quick points.

Bathrooms were clean and the water was hot.
Nice playground for the kids.
Descent size dog run.
They opened up about 15 minutes early so I could settle the bill. (They had a good chuckle with my hand writing.)
They offer a waffle bar at the camp store in the AM.

1) No.
2) Same boondocking issue.
3) You can park at the Port, but it is extra for such a large vehicle.

If I could tag on and add in a question along the same lines, in Sept. we're doing a Disney Cruise and then going to WDW after (3 night cruise). Was thinking about bringing our motorhome down to stay at the Fort. Do they let you park it in the overflow lot at the Fort while you're cruising, if not anyone know of a good place to park for something like this? Wife's parents live in Orlando and we're going to ride with them to the Port but they don't have a yard big enough that we could park the motorhome in.

Probably not what you want to do, but there is a campground at the 2nd cruise terminal, where the casino ship sails from, not far from the main cruise terminals. It is an hour drive from there to Orlando and cost I believe 3.00 one way on the Bee-line expressway, which is the road the cruise terminals are on.

There is a main gate that you need to go through. If you don't have a "Band" or "Card" access available (which won't be valid until your actual scheduled start day) but there is a "Guard" at the gate. The guard also has a list of "Current" guests for that day as well to allow you in to "Check-in" So there is a "Gate" but if you are a valid guest or will be checking in, then you can get in.
