If Disney closed a Park due to the ecomony, which one would you choose?

Which Disney Park would you close?

  • Magic Kingdom

  • Epcot

  • Hollywood Studios

  • Animal Kingdom

  • Typhoon Lagoon

  • Blizzard Beach

Who knows how far down this economy will spiral. If things got much, much worse and Disney closed a Park permanently, which Park would you vote for letting go?

Water parks - I agree. These are also the ones with the least amount of shops and restaurants so I would imagine these are the least profitable.

Waterparks first...

Then combine resorts like they did after 9/11...

what the heck?

What did they do after 9/11? How did Disney handle that?

I would choose one of the water parks to close. If the Magic Kingdom were to close I don't know what I would do - I'm really surprised that someone voted for it  .

They closed POFQ down -not sure if they did Riverside after... they took that time to do a referb of the resort and moved guests over to other resorts. That way they could keep more people in the resorts (CM's) and not spread out if they had to lay anyone off... They moved my brother over to AKL because I told them it was their honeymoon... (it was...)

Thanks for answering. I had no idea that they reacted to 9/11 so strongly. It seems like so long ago...I forget how horrible that was and how unsure we all were about the future.

Anyway...thanks for the info! And cool that your brother got upgraded to AKL!!

I also think the water parks should be the first to go. As for the others, I would have a hard time deciding.

Wow 3 people voted for the Magic Kingdom!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Are you crazy?:rotfl: :rotfl:

Actually I"M the one who got them upgraded... they called from Disney to let them know about POFQ and since I had made their ressies for them, they called me... I let them know that they had been very busy aroudn 9/11 because they are both FBI... and they actually had to ask for the day off to get married... and the nice reservation person told me to hold on... she'd call me right back and instead of transfering them to CBR like they were doing with alot of others, they put them at AKL... my brother of course asked me why I couldn't get them upgraded to the GF and I bluntly told him that if they did since the room slept 5... they, my mom, me and their daughter were going to join them... honeymoon or not... :lmao:

I could live without the water parks. I dont care for water parks anyway. I would hate to lose any of the main four parks though.

I found the poll interesting in that the Magic Kingdom received any votes, let alone votes before Epcot received any. Though I enjoy each park a great deal, Epcot is my favorite.

I don't do waterparks so that was an easy choice. Typhoon and Blizzard are a nice thing to have at Disney, but I can't believe anyone would rather keep both of them open over any of the four parks.

Closing a park just isn't feasible. If WDW was that bad off, the entire place would shut down. The economic things that would or should do is to lessen hours, cut out expensive shows, etc. That said, WDW would close one waterpark and many other things like Disney Quest first.
