Everyone is talking about AP codes... well unfortunately, I'm not an AP member and I don't see the value in getting an AP just for the room discount.... sooooo... will general codes be released at the same time?

if someone else calls to ask about codes ... please ask about general codes as well :wizard: I need a lil disney magic to help my save money... who knows, I might be purchasing an engagement ring to propose while I'm on my trip, so ya know, every penny helps :)

I'm in the same boat. The AP wont' help us much, I'd have to buy two PAP to meet our needs. Our last trip was during Easter 2004. The general code I used was only $5.00 more than the AP rate.

The CM I spoke to this morning didn't have any idea if/when AP or general codes were going to be released.

I don't know if it makes much of a difference, but remember that only one AP/PAP is necessary for the discount. The other person in the room wouldn't have to have an AP/PAP.

that's the most romantic thing I've read on this site :lovestruc good luck and may the codes be with you :earboy2:

Unfortunatly, Disney has said they probably will not be releasing general public rates because of the MYW ticketing and packages. The packages are supposed to be a deal. My friend is a TA and she confirmed this for me. She found out in a disney travel co. meeting. I hope though that they will offer something! I will keep my fingers crossed!! :goodvibes

From my neighbor who is a Disney-specialist travel agent, taken directly from Disneytravelagents.com:

"Q: Does the new pricing structure mean you’ll no longer offer occasional special offers?
A: The new pricing structure addresses the cost of Walt Disney World theme park tickets and packages. Walt Disney World will continue to monitor business results and create special offers if the situation requires it."

but there are special discounts through April right? MYW starting in Jan...

Does anyone know the rates for All Stars & POP for the end of April...we have AAA & AP. Still hoping for a code, we need two nights after our Wonder Cruise. We were at All Star Music in February & it has been very difficult adjusting to our frigid Northeast temps again  ! Why can't I live on Castaway Cay!!!! Cathie :grouphug:

The key word here is "occasional"! What most people are looking for is a guarantee that they will have a code. Not a "wow, here is a special for the month of Sept". Disney has offered a GP code for almost every season in the past. That is what the public is expecting.

Disney Specialist TA here...

Yes - but those *special* discounts that are available through till April were released after the 4 hurricanes Florida faced late last year. Disney released those codes so far out because they anticpated a huge decline in visitors. The MYW began well AFTER those discounts became available.

Keep in mind - discounts are JUST like stand by flights. They ONLY become available if they need to fill a boatload of rooms. Since MYW has been SO successful. I mean VERY successful, Disney is in no desperate need to fill empty rooms by releasing discounts, simply because there aren't many sitting empty as of late.

This is exactly what I posted last week...my friend a TA stated that there Disney rep had stated because of MYW and good turn out...they would not be issuing room only codes...I tend to believe it....it makes sense...

I think all we can do is speculate at this point. So keep watching! :)

As much as I enjoy the discounts at WDW and even though I've saved tons of money over the years by getting codes, I wonder sometimes if they aren't a mixed blessing. It just seems that so many people plan their vacations based on EXPECTING codes, thus setting themselves up for disappointment if the codes don't appear.

I would love for codes to come out for our trips this summer, but I've planned based on what I can afford WITHOUT codes, and I'll enjoy my trips just as much without codes as with them. I really hope that others can do the same.

With AAA I got a room at Pop for $84 for end of june to july 5. I would think all of the all stars would be the same.

I had a different response to the question about general public codes. The CM I talked with today said that she couldn't tell me if there were general public codes and that I would have to say "can I apply code ### to my reservation." Never heard that one before. She said I could ask about AP codes and they could apply them. I thought that was weird.

Hi Cathie  Another NH girl here (Portsmouth) :)

I got a room at POP from May 1-May 7 using the AAA discount, and with tax it was $93.66. I'm hoping GP codes come out, but if not, the AAA discount's better than nothing :confused3
