you could try this one! :flower3:

I'm Natalie, I haven't introduced myself properly yet but I have been lurking around the UK boards for a few weeks. I am a yankee candle fan too so I have been checking out that thread regularly. So, anyway, here is the recipe I've just used. My mum and I liked them and they did taste more american than the ones we have made in the past. My dad likes IHOP alot, they taste a bit like the ones you can get there.

Makes 6 large pancakes.

You will need;

190g plain flour, 10g baking powder and 10g sugar, 3g salt, 1 egg, 295ml milk and 45g butter. 1tsp Vanilla Extract (optional).

How to make them;

1. Melt butter gently in a pan and heat milk for 1 minute in microwave. Whilst these are heating, combine dry ingredients in a bowl.

2. Combine milk and melted butter and add egg, whisking with a fork. Make well in dry ingredients pouring liquid ingredients into centre and adding vanilla extract if you are using it then use a whisk to form ingredients into a smooth batter, getting rid of any lumps.

3. Grease a frying pan. I do this by pouring a little vegetable oil (crisp n dry) onto a scrunched up piece of kitchen towel and wiping into round the inside of the pan. Once you've done that, heat pan (get it really hot!) and pour a ladle full of pancake batter into pan. Swirl batter round to coat whole pan with a thin layer. Edges should curl up when golden and bubbles will appear on surface, this is when you should turn it - flip at your own risk:thumbsup2 ! After 1 min pancake should be ready. Serve and keeping making pancakes until you have used up all your batter.

They would taste great with maple syrup, I think. We had them with peaches and ice cream. Or you could always just have them with sugar and a jif lemon!

Enjoy! :yay:

Hi Natalie, welcome to the DIS:cool1:

I love the sound of of your reciepe, believe it or not I went to sainsburys last night and there were no eggs left! As this reciepe only uses one - that's all I have in the fridge :lmao: :lmao:

Lemon and sugar for us, I think. Lovely after roast chicken dinner!

Thanks for posting:thumbsup2

It's one of those places we keep intending to go to but have never been yet. I'm going to make sure we get there this time though so what would you recommend for first-timers for breakfast Michelle?

For me it is always a Rooty Tooty Fresh+Fruity for brekkie,2 eggs,2 bacon,2 sausage,and 2 buttermilk pancakes-there's an assortment of sauces on the table for your pancakes,or as i like i ask for the strawberry compote,big juicy strawbs in like a thick gooey jam+cream on top.
If it's just pancakes i want i go for the strawberry+banana stack of pancakes--ohh i can taste them now.
Bottomless coffee pots+free refils on soft drinks(be warned it can get pretty busy in the mornings).x.

Sounds good. :) We'll be going on one of our rest days so it won't matter if we have to wait for a table and/or service is 'slow, easy and comfortable'.

Thanks Michelle. :goodvibes

Thanks everyone :goodvibes - I feel very welcome now!

Yes - you better watch out - us Natalies are taking over the world you know :rotfl: !
