If a member has to cancel a reservation, can we give it to another member?

I just wondered if this is possible. I have seen the threads for cancelled restaurant reservations, that are given to others. I am assuming we can't because of the waitlist. It would be nice though to be able to do this for other members.

It's different than giving someone your ADR. If you give a DVC reservation to another member, you would also be giving them the points that made the reservation.

f you want your points back, you have to cancel the reservation. At that point, if there were a waitlist, the reservation would go to someone on the waitlist.

You can "sell" the reservation to anyone if you like. Posters here generally refer to that as renting a reservation. You don't get your points back, but you do get some $$ as compensation.

If there's a waitlist in effect for the dates in question, canceled reservations DO go to other members.

they could transfer the appropriate amount of points back to you.
