Unless extended, you no longer own those points after 1/31/2042.
Maybe we will be able to borrow them in 2041? I hope so at least. So if I have December UY, I only have two months, from 12/1/ 2041 to 1/31/2042 to use them?
There already was an extension offered for owners of OKW which extended it to 2057 for $25/point. Some paid for the extension, many did not. New direct OKW purchases expire in 2057.I think OKW 2042 owners will be offered an extension from about 2032, can’t see others getting one but we’ll see
Yes they were but by 2032 there will have most likely been a turn over from the original owners who would most likely want to extend their points. Now what could get tricky is all the resale restrictions the new owners have and ones imposed in the future. There already was an extension offered for owners of OKW which extended it to 2057 for $25/point. Since I will be a new resale owner at HHI, I would gladly buy an extension if it was offered.Yes they were but by 2032 there will have most likely been a turn over from the original owners who would most likely want to extend their points. You will be able to borrow them. My guess they may allow borrowing those points 2 years in advance, if estimated dues are prepaid or somethingI've got a DEC UY with some SSR points, so I will be interested to see how they handle the 2042 resorts with DEC UY points. Are people going to want to pay MF on points if they can only use them for 2 months or are they just going to walk away?
Honestly, I doubt they will offer any more extensions as the OKW extension was basically a failure.Yes they were but by 2032 there will have most likely been a turn over from the original owners who would most likely want to extend their points. If they are allowed to do it they can but if they aren’t it’s not going to happen. While removing banking makes sense, removing borrowing the last year makes it very hard for people with a December or other late UY to use them. To be fair with everyone they would need to make all points expire 2 months after they are awarded. So anyone with a Feb UY would see their points expire at end of March, to give everyone the same chance to use them. It would be a nightmare.
