Idog VS. Iz ?

Looking for opinions here. DS would love to have the Idog ( and I like the price VS the Fly Pen ) or the IZ which is a little more but still cool.


Has anyone heard anything about either of these? Are the worth it?

ok i personally have the IZ for my son who is going to be 13 Dec.20
You plug up IZ into any device that takes headphones.He acts as a speaker for the device.His horn changes colors and he makes noises.His eyes move up and down to the beats of the music.I swear he said my sons name which is "scotty".I think it is absolutely adorable and my son just loves it and he is a teenager.His friend saw this thing in action too and thought it was "cool"
As far as idog goes it is very small and i dont have it personally.My daughter has asked her grandma for this for xmas and she is 9.So i cant speak from experience on that 1.But i say IZ is worth the money.He is just adorable.I would love to have him on my desk top with my radio hooked into him.Iz also comes with the cord to hook into a device.

They were both on DS6 list and I have purchased them both and am trying to decide which is better so I would love to hear some more feedback so I can return one of them.

I saw the IZ at Toys R Us when I was picking up the Nintendog DS bundle. When I saw him, I exclaimed, "Wow. I didn't realize he was so big." It was surprising to me because I had only seen his picture on toysrus.com and it was the same size as the idog in the picture . Anyway, the cashier saw my interest and spent about 15 minutes showing me how it worked. He moves around and makes noises (burping, etc.) and his eyes move up and down. He can be repositioned so he stands on one leg, etc. He kind of goes to the beat of the music.

On the other hand, the iDog is a nicer size (in my opinion) for sitting on a kids desk, etc. But he doesn't do as much. He has lights that blink and I think the ears move??

I _think_ I might get the iDog for my DD10 and the IZ for my DD13. I will probably get the iDog but I am still debating on the IZ. I am not sure if my DD will like it or not?

My dd bought the Idog at Once Upon a Toy last month after seeing it in a magazine on the flight down to Disney. I only recently saw the IZ. I bought my younger dd the Disney MP3 player for Christmas, and I am thinking about buying one of these to go with it. I read reviews on Amazon's link. The IZ is more interactive, but makes some gross sounds that I personally think would get old quick. I'm probably going to get her the Idog too. It's cute and small and they sell a little winter outfit for it to wear. I can't help but notice that it seems like they are making the Idog for girls and the IZ for boys...

Although I do not have a response for the OP, I wanted to say thanks for asking. My DD9 just informed me that she wanted an IZ music maker for Christmas and I had no clue what the darn thing was. A little research helped, but it is nice to see what my fellow Dis members are saying about it. Looks like she will be getting one, now which color and where? I have only seen them online at KB Toys and ToysRuS. KB Toys had them priced at $34 and ToysRuS at $40.

I got my IZ at target when they were on sale for 33.00 it was 36.?? with tax for IZ.
I do agree that IZ seems more appealing to boys than girls.
The idog is going to have winter outfits in several different colors that is going to be released i believe in about a week or two.It makes the idog look very cute and stylish.
They have purple,pink,green and other colored outfits for the dog to wear.
They also have a carrying bag for your idog.
So the idog is very eye catching for girls!!!!
If anyone is interested i do have 1 green IZ left that i will sell for cost plus shipping.I even have the gift receipt from Target.

I have the Idog, and its very cute!! Love the light shows it gives. It makes some woofing and yipeing noises (the IZsounded like it was belching to me!!) it shakes its head and wiggles its ears. THey will also be releasing some bags to carry your ipod and idog in that are really cute for girls!!

Can the movements and sounds from these be turned off if the kids just want to use it as a speaker for their music? Or do the lights and extra sounds always stay on?

If there's a way, I'm sure my dd knows (she loves to play around with things like this and figure out all the features) but she's away for the weekend. I'll ask her when she gets home.

dpayne1969- I hope you're right about the release for the Idog outfits. I was ready to order from Amazon/Toys r Us and saw a Feb release date. That's crazy why wouldn't they want to hit the Christmas shopping season?!? I hope it's released soon.

I went ahead and ordered the Idog for my younger dd from Walmart online. They have $0.97 shipping and even though they charged sales tax, it still came out to just under $25.

I bought both the IZ and IDog at TRU. Once I got home and compared the two, I took the IDog back. My DS is almost 5 and I thought the IZ would be more fun for him. It also looked more durable for a 5 year old. The IDog said ages 8 and up so I thought it might not wear as well with a little one.
I wanted to keep the IDog, though. Too cute!

Our Target didn't have the blue IZ and TRU sent me a 20% coupon, so I called TRU and they said I could bring the receipt back and they would take the 20% off. I'm glad to see the reviews of the IZ here. I haven't been able to find one out of the box to see it in action.

Target is going to have the IDog for $19.99 on black friday.
