It appears that I have been a victim of identity theft. I have been trying to think of all the different companies I need to contact. Has anyone else had any experience with this? I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Although I have not had any direct experience, the first step I think would be to get a copy of your credit report so you can see for yourself what companies you need to notify. You can get them online in minutes.

Sorry this happened to you... good luck getting it resolved.

You need to notify all 3 credit bureaus and get copies of your report from each of them to see if there's unauthorized activity. They can flag your ss# for a period of a year (or something) so that they have to really verify any applications. I think you might also want to notify social security to put a flag on your #?

Good luck getting this resolved!

Notify all three credit bureaus. Notify all credit card companies. Notify your bank. Call the FBI.
