Hi All~
Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or tips for identifying your luggage at the airport baggage area. We have solid black luggage and in the past I have made neon colored pom poms and attatched them to our suitcases to help us spot our suitcases as they spin around at baggage claim. However they tend to get ripped off or fall off after several uses.
Thanks for any advice you can send my way!

we tied sparkly ribbon on our handles and combined with the fact that it's a lepord (sp ) print so we can usually find it!

We tied a piece of Orange ribbon off the front zipper. And had no problems finding or luggage.

i saw people take BRIGHT colored duct tape and put it on the outside (lime green, pink, orange, yellow) I had a wonderful DISer make me lime green mickey head luggage tags but my luggage is bright pink anyway so its not to hard to find it:)

DS and I saw this in Myrtle Beach.

Standard Issue Black rolling suitcase.

BIG X on it with duct tape. Written on the Duct Tape in bright ORANGE?

"NOT YOURS"

Brilliant!

I bought little Disney stamps at Menards a few years ago and used craft paint and stamped our luggage with Mickey heads & hands, Pluto and his bone, Minnie and her bow. I used red, white and yellow paint. We always know our bags.

I have Disney patches all over my suitcase. I have not tried flying with them yet so our trip to San Diego this August will be the first. I just hope they all stay on.

We have bright orange ribbon tied on the handles of each piece. We haven't had any problems finding our luggage.

We just wrap flourescent orange and green string around a couple of handles on each bag. It's enough so they are easy identifiable but not enough for them to get ripped off.

I got a luggage strap at the Dollar Store. It is flourescent pink, green, and orange. Not only does it make it easy to find my luggage, it helps me over the fear of my luggage coming down the carousel with my underwear hanging out :rotfl2:

LOL:rotfl2: that is great! I guess I am maybe the only one who scans each piece of solid black luggage cause I have no cool tags on mine. In fact, last time I flew (couple states over) I picked up "my" EXACT bag (that I had borrowed from my mom for the trip), it honestly was, and opened the luggage tag to double check, I was very surprised to see that 1) it wasn't actually my bag
2) it belonged to a woman who apparently lives in my home town, 2 houses down from my mom...what are the chances;)

I will definately use some of those tips

Haven't seen these at the Dollar Store, but they do have them at WalMart for just a couple of bucks. I have one for every black suitcase we own!

I knit a small square, like a dish cloth but about half the size, in bright red yarn and using the same yarn, just tied the square to the suitcase. Very easy to spot. It's been on many trips and has never torn off. I like all the other ideas though, they all sound like they would work very well.

It all depends on just how dedicated to finding your luggage you are - but the single BEST method I have ever seen is used by a friend of mine who does field service (travels about 200 days a year all over the world). His method ....

Neon spray paint on the front and back of the suitcases - great big corner to corner X and a few lines on the side. Having seen it come down onto the baggage carousel there is no question at all that it is his. (you could pick your own design - smiley face, mickey ears if your artistic)
