Hi everyone! Looking for suggestions on where to go for a few days during spring break, at the end of March. We live in nj and anything within 6 hours or so of driving would work. We have kids, so definitely family friendly. Any ideas...we really would love to go somewhere fun! Thanks!

What about Washington DC? Not sure how old your kids are, but all the Smithsonian museums are free (or an inexpensive donation) and REALLY fantastic.

Washington, DC
VA Beach/Williamsburg Combo Trip
Boston

All of those would be a lot of fun - just depends if you want warmer or colder...theme parks or history or variety...etc...

The first couple of weeks in March can still be bitterly cold here in Boston. Weather has been wonky this year so not sure if it is worth the risk. I would head South for sure. We really enjoyed DC when my dd was 11 and nephew was 13. What about Myrtle Beach? Nashville?

If you choose the DC route...make sure you don't just do all the history...since it will be spring break, make sure you...

Hit the Cherry Blossom Festival events http://www.nationalcherryblossomfestival.org/category/events/
Try out a local trampoline park
Hit a few "pay" museums (the Spy museum is worth its entire entry price, but deals are always to be found - Newseum is great for teens)
If the kids are old enough, rent a paddle boat and enjoy the beauty or hit a Nationals game if you love baseball:)

That was my first thought, too. Also second the idea of a Tidewater-area trip, but the DC attractions are interesting and definitely budget-friendly.

Poconos has 3 great indoor waterparks- Great Wolf Lodge, Aquatopia and Kalahari - the last 2 are brand new. - additionally if it warms up there are great hiking outdoorsy things, and if it doesn't skiing or snow-tubing at Camelback or Shawnee (great for newbies). There is a new Escape Room which is fun, wineries and Casinos for the grownups. Lots to do! You can often find the indoor waterparks, escape room and ski specials on Groupon.

here's one for kalahari- https://www.groupon.com/deals/ga-bk-kalahari-resorts-conventions-poconos-3

You forgot split rock resort. We'll be there in 3 weeks. We live in South Jersey.

Busch Gardens is open for Spring Break and Colonial Williamsburg/Jamestown/Yorktown are wonderful to visit as well, especially that time of year when it's warm, but not hot. If I were to go here (which I've loved), I'd plan 2 days at the theme park and 2 days for history and then have 1 day for something fun/cool in the area (I went to the VA Beach Bay one year, one year I went to the outlets, one year I did Nautilus, etc)...
