Hi all,

I'm hoping that you can come up with some ideas / help for me!

I really don't like flowers  and would prefer to have as little as possible for our wedding. I know, a strange request it seems! I just have never really liked any flowers in the first place, yes they look pretty, but it's always seemed like a silly waste of $$ for something that only lasts a few days and kicks up my allergies.

So does anyone have any ideas on what to do? I already have found some centerpieces that have candles that I like. But not exactly sure what to do about boquets and such?? :confused3

hmmm i agree let me try some ideas

-branches in gold and rocks or something

-candles and stones or crystals

- candelabra with cadles and strings of crystals

-water filled vases with something floating

-How about the paper flowers like martha stewart??

-oww this is fun let me keep thinking i cant wait to hear everyones responses

Princessdisneybelle is using parasols. Small decorative lace fans. Rose wands don't use many flowers, are low cost and shout Disney wedding !

Do you have a theme? Colors? Maybe that would help us come up with some ideas for you? I agree. I'm not having tons of flowers either.

As far as centerpieces, we used disney's candelabras with bobeches. They were stunning and we had small votive candles on the tables with castle and coach confetti.

We used very few flowers in our decorations. The bouquets (real flowers) of the weding party were used to decorate the head table. I used silk for the gazebo and they were transfered to the cake/gift tables at the reception. For centerpeices we used 3 candles of various sizes and river rock which were placed on a plate. We then sprinkled the table with dried flower petals and M&M's. The tables looked full, esp with the place settings. Everything was low cost as we did it ourselves. We didn't like the idea of spending oodles of $ on flowers as they would die way to quickly to justify the cost.

Thank you all for your great ideas so far!

Our theme is Mickey and Minnie, and the colors are black and white with gold accents.

maybe statues of mickey through the years with some crystals and tea light???

after choosing the rose wands for our little bridesmaids, I've noticed a few websites that sell hand made tiaras are making star shaped wands with crystals. The only reason I havent changed my mind is that our neice will only be 18 months old and our daughter 4 and the metal looks a bit "sharp"I have visions of a serious injury!!!

Thank you again to everyone for the great ideas!

I really like the flower wand idea for the BM's boquets. That doesn't seem too unreasonable, and the cost is much better too. I had heard of them before, but hadn't really looked at it much as I figured it was just for kids. I guess not!

If anyone has any more "flowerless" ideas, please keep them comming!

Thanks everyone!
Brandi

This may sound a bit cornball, but if you're having an evening/dusk wedding, I think it would be really pretty to have people come down the aisle carrying small lanterns. You could use the "fake" candles that light up in the lanterns, so they don't get hot/blow out, and you could also place some floral or other elements inside the lanterns.

Something like that...

these are ostrich feathers...not sure of the price...they look neat, almost like a palm tree

are you looking for an elegant look or a fun bright almost cartoonish look??

Two weeks before my wedding, the florist called to let me know that the flowers I ordered would not be here in time for my wedding(we went with something with a low pollen coun). After a quick meltdown, my husband suggested to go with artificial flowers for the bouquets and balloons for the center pieces. We chose metallic balloons in our wedding colors and a white just married balloon for the center pieces. We then did an arch of the just married balloons behind the dais. My mother made the most beautiful bouquets and boutonnieres. We were happy with the results and had an allergy free day. The best part is that my mother turned my bouquet into a wreath and I hung it in my living room.
