I do "tinkerbell gifts" for my kids at Disney. Although we call them Mickey Gifts because my kiddos think that Mickey brings them.

Last time we went I picked up some toys from the Disney store.....but they are the type of toys that the kids play with for a day and then never touch them again. I'm trying to keep the playroom/house decluttered from junk that the kids dont play with. So no more junk toys. Any ideas of some things that the kids will continue using long past the Disney vacation? Here's a few things I'm already going to do.

*I'm going to get some Disney princess fleece, cut around them, knot the ends, and make each of the girls a princess blanket. They can sleep under these at home.

*I found a Cars water bottle and a Princess water bottle in the Target dollar bin. They can use these anywhere.

*I found a Cars wallet in the Targe dollar store bin. DD4 carries a purse sometimes and she always likes to have a wallet.

*I found two nice stuffed animals at Target on clearance (non Disney but still really cute) for $5 each. My girls love stuffed animals.

*I'm getting DD4 a necklace from Etsy. It will be a nice necklace, not a junky one, with either Snow White or Marie on it......so DD can wear this necklace at anytime.....she likes jewelry.

*I ordered matching Marie jammies from the Disney Store online for only $5 each.....they can always use new jammies.

*I ordered beach balls from the Disney Store online for only $2 each.....we have a pool so they can use those in there when we return.

*I found some Cars baby toys at Disney a while back that I bought and was saving for DD when she got a bit older. I'm going to give those to her as one of the Mickey Gifts. This is the only thing so far that I think will be "discarded" upon returning home. But since I've already bought it a while ago, I might as well use it.

Any other ideas? As you can see, I'm trying to stay with a "cheap or clearance" price but still get a quality product that they will not be discarded at home. I would like to have something for them each morning from The Mouse himself. So I need a few more ideas.

Do they collect Disney pins to trade at the parks?

Maybe give them Disney Dollars?

or a "coupon" for whatever snack or dessert of their choice that day..

I got each of my kids a beach towel on clearance. I also picked up the misting fans at walmart. They are always begging for them at the park, but the price is outrageous:scared1: . Tink also brings stickers, those magic marker books for the plane ride home, t-shirts I've gotten on clearance, etc. I also always include a lip gloss for my DD and a chapstick for my DS, I don't usually allow them at home (:sad2: messy). I try and theme everyday to the park we are visiting or have visited. I do give them things that I later determine to be "junk" however it certainly is cheaper than buying similar "junk" in the parks. You're making me think about the Tink presents I've got already, I'll have to check and see if I can offer any other suggestions.

:thumbsup2 There's a great backsack I was able to get on e-bay this year for the plane ride down. It is red for the DD and blue for the DS, it has a cutout of Minnie and the other one of Mickey and has there name embroidered (sp) on it in Disney writing. It was only about $15, well worth it, amazing quality. I thought it would be something different and will help carry back all of our goodies.

Here are some ideas:

* glow sticks to use in the parks
* disposable cameras
* sunglasses
* hat
* bathing suit
* jibbitz if they wear crocs
* quarters and pennies to make pressed pennies (they can fill their wallets up with these!!!)
* character coloring books or workbooks from $$ Store

Happy planning!

Dollar Store has those water balls ... they're the ones you play with at the pools then wring out to dry. DS loves to take these to the resort pool.

What about packs of gum, life savers, lollipops?

Last week I ordered some smallish radio controlled cars (one with Aurora and one with Cinderella) for really cheap from the Disney Store online (like under $10). I also ordered straw cups and at the bottom of the cup is a water globe with Minnie in 1 and Aurora in the other. Those were under $5. I also got a Pal Mickey that my mom (who is going down a few days ahead of us) will ask a CM at POFQ to put inside our room before we check in. I need a couple of more things. Looks like I may have to hit the Target $1 bins.

I stock up in the Target $1 section when they have Princess items. I also get things at the Disney Store on clearance.

So far, I have --

6 year old girl
Princess necklace
Princess sunglasses
Princess lipgloss, nail polish
Cinderella nightlight necklace
Princess stickers and notebook/pencils
autograph book
Disney dollars

3 year old girl
Princess necklace
Princess sunglasses
Leo and Quincy Little Einsteins plushes (we already have June and Annie)
Cinderella nightlight necklace
Princess stickers
autograph book
Disney dollars

Will also buy a few small trinkets that we see in the gift shops there.

Oh, and then anything that the girls really want will be shipped home and saved for Christmas gifts.

AND I'm bringing along all of the Minnie ears and hats and junk that we bought the last time we were there. That way, we won't have to buy new ones! :wizard:

Our dollar stores have lots a little Disney trinkets, it's worth going and taking a look, I can't remember exactly what but there was quite a bit to pick from! I know for sure there were Disney Coloring Books (Tigger/Pooh, MMC, and some othere). Saw similar ones at Wal-Mart for over $3! Good luck!

Tink always brings my kids Disney band-aids. They love having their own box. Also, stickers, tattoos, gummies. I try for small, inexpensive and disposable or quickly used up. My kids also love those magic towels. They use them in the bath at home and they take up almost no space packing.

My girls got tons of stuff from Tink, some of their favorites were bought while we were in WDW. We went to the tea party with Aurora and they got the charm bracelets, I bought some extra charms and our wakeup day to come home Tink left them each a charm on the night stand, then 1 in their rinse cups, 1 in their cereal bowls, 1 inside their crocs, 1 on their car seats, 1 inside their backpacks, 1 everytime we stopped to grab a bite or potty, there would be 1 in their car seats when we got back to the car, and finally 1 on their nightstand and home the next morning. They LOVE those bracelets. Tink also left Belle light up spinning things, Ariel fans, pjs, jibbitz, Princess dresses for the tea party along with whole ansemble, beach towels, numerous pins, stickers, bubbles, Tink left things throughout the day any time the girls were being really good. She ALWAYS left pixie dust in the morning, she even left some when she was flying overhead, she would sprinkle some in their hair,but only if they were being exceptionally well behaved. Everything was Disney themed of course, some stuff was bought at the Disney store, Target, Dollar Tree and Disney Shopping on line. I bought the kids princess luggage set from disney shopping and it came with a small backpack, we had an 18 hour drive and the 1st Tink gift was a backpack FULL of fun and educational items. I got Disney composition books from Walmart, we picked up a few disney pens from big lots, stickers from dollar tree, disney work books from the dollar tree, playing cards with tink of course, crayons, lip gloss, lollipops etc. Sorry this was so long, tink was good to my girls.

Tink gave the 4 1/2 yr olds tatoos (target), princess dolls (barbie style from Disney store), stickers, finger flashlights(wal-mart), glow sticks, princess necklace & rings (wal-mart), bathrobes (clearanced @ disney store) great for coming out of the pool. I know there were other things, but can't recall. She left fairy confetti with each gift.

Funny, we were just discussing this! We had Mickey leave little treats last year, mostly clearance things I found at Dis, but as the OP mentioned, they end up in my basement and are barely played with. DS did love the surprises though. We have a few things for next week, but not for every day. I talked to DH about Mickey leaving a note with letter (to spell MICKEY) each day and when it is spelled, DS can choose a special treat from the parks...not positive yet though. Not to hyjack, but has anyone done anything similar?

Here are a few thoughts too...a new autograph book, a chance to get a hair braid by the hotel pool, snacks...hmmm, time to do some thinking:)

Tink is leaving our DS5 and DS6 new, PIXAR "Cars" diecast cars under their pillows every day!

I just ordered a Cinderella dress from Target and also Power Rangers for my son. I am going to make a gift basket and UPS it down ahead of us. The I will leave it in the room when they aren't looking and when we come back from the park let them know Mickey left us a gift for everyone. The dress is adorable and not $:thumbsup2 60-80 dollars!

I went to the $ store last night and found some trinkets for my 1 year old DD to help amuse her in the parks. I got:
*Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy rubber figures. They are the same size as her Pooh ones so she can also play with them in her bathtub "treehouse"
*Stickers-princess and Mickey's gang. Also got my son some POTC ones for the trip down
*Princess and Cars kaleidescopes for line waiting

:goodvibes

We are also too cluttered with "junk" toys . I like the ideas of the snack coupons- how about for a Mickey Bar? There were a lot of good ideas mentioned. We also take a Disney themed toothbrush as a surprise for each little one. They have Baby Einsteins, Princesses, Cars, Pooh, even Wall E.

I love your ideas. My DD's each have a tied fleece princess blanket and love them. I'm trying to keep our stuff small since we are flying and not wanting to pay extra for baggage. My DD's love their crocs and jibbitz. So I'm going to get them each a jibbit bracelet and some princess jibbitz to put on the bracelet.

OOOH People what are you doing to me!! I never thought of leaving my dd little things for the morning. Now....it's in my head and need to do it! Thats ok - I'm a planner and with all my stuff planned for November already I needed something else to work on! Thanks for all the ideas!

As I was reading this post, I thought I might be embarrassed noting what I had gotten for my boys. Thanks to Belle72, I know I'm not the only one! Toothbrushes! Actually, I got lightup ones for my boys and a singing High School Musical one for my cousin. The boys also got Wall-E toothpaste.

Other things already listed:

glow sticks
magic washclothes (clearance a Disney store, but recently saw them at the grocery store)
jibbitz (and a jibbitz bracelet)
new flashlights
hand-held fans
t-shirts (Mickey ones from Target)

I did this on our short trip to Disneyland with my nieces and daughter. My DD is 12 and old enough to know it is us, but she still liked it! My nieces (6 & 4) were amazed by it! I jot each of them a beach towel, a t-shirt, stickers, candy, and we also bought some pins for each of them when we were there. The real problem is we will be going to WDW for a week in March, so now I have to start collecting things for them. I LOVE the looks on thier faces in the morning, and our deal is that you only get a tinkerbell gift if you are good and don't ask for things at the parks. They were so well behaved, I was amazed at how well it worked.
