Ideas for Surprising My Dad for His Birthday?

Mom, Dad, me & fiance all going down for a few days next month (11/14 - 11/19), my dad's 66th birthday is on 11/18 - any ideas for a birthday surprise?

For context:
- We are staying at boardwalk; its my parents first time at boardwalk but we have been DVC since I was 3 (home resort is OKW)
- My parents have some restricted movement; they like to walk (slowly) but can't do many rides. SDMT, BTMR for rollercoasters, for example, are highlights in MK. Space or Splash and they would be stuck riding the rides until we come back next
-he's not interested in California Grill (though I do wish we were there for a sunday brunch!) but he does have a sweet tooth


......Go! Oh, and many thanks, he definitely won't be expecting any of this!

If he has a sweet tooth, what about doing one of the dessert parties? You could also treat him to Minnie Van transportation during your trip so he doesn’t have to ride the buses.

I haven't done one, but I know the Star Wars one gets good reviews.

I was also going to suggest you book one of the tours until I read that your parents might have mobility issues. I know my parents would love the Keys to the Kingdom and other behind the scenes tours, but they could never do them in the summer...too hot for them. Maybe there is another less strenuous tour he'd like too?

The Star Wars dessert party was better than the old Wishes one in our opinion. If you are staying at the Boardwalk- Ample Hills Creamery is absolutely incredible. I think my husband got Oatmeal Lace ice cream every night........ who counts desserts on vacation, right?

I would agree with the dessert party idea. If it's available, I would consider the MK HEA party with the terrace seating (as opposed to Plaza viewing), so you will have seats when viewing the show.

Perhaps also consider a private, Illuminations cruise? The boats leave from the YC boat dock, so you could simply take a Friendship boat from BWI over there to get to your cruise. They will provide drinks and snacks, but you could also add a cake for the cruise to celebrate his birthday.

I have done fishing excursion and illumination cruise w family. Different and both fun in different ways

For cruise, you can bring dessert on or order custom cakes too
