Ideas for substitute to things like Keys to the Kingdom Tour over Christmas

I have a friend who will be visiting WDW for the first time with extended family and they will be there over Christmas and New Year (I know - YIKES!) Certainly not the time I would suggest for a newbie, but alas, it is what it is.

Anyway, she had her heart set on doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour (which I've done and thoroughly enjoyed) and was so very disappointed when she called recently to book it, only to find out all of those kinds of tours are suspended from 12/18-1/2. Does anyone know of anything that would be remotely similar that they COULD do during that time?

Thanks for any thoughts you care to share!

Thanks for the info! It is very pricey and I'm not sure she will want to spend that much either, but it is an option at least!

On the plus side, it does NOT require park admission, she she wouldn't "burn" a day on her ticket, it includes an AYCE meal @ Whispering Canyon, and a reserved spot for the Candlelight Processional. So, there is a decent amount of "stuff" included in the price.

Not similar, but Wild Africa Trek runs during that time. We did in on Dec. 26 last year. It was a GREAT way to avoid the crowds in AK and get a wonderful, up close look at the animals on the safari. Again, not cheap, but definitely worth it.

Good to know this tour does run over the holidays! I am actually doing it in October and can't wait as I hear so many great things about it! I'll be sure to provide this as a good option for her.

Very good point!!
