Looking for ideas and hoping I might get some ideas....

I'm helping to plan a Disney Haunted Mansion Costume Ball in October in Kansas City for the Thank You Walt Disney organization. We're looking for ideas to have for a take-away favor for attendees! I'm not really crafty myself, but I'm sure we can pull it together if we get the right idea(s).

I don't know what our budget will be as yet, but I need to go back to the next meeting with some ideas. This is the first place I turned to.

So any and all ideas are welcome and extremely appreciated!

Thanks!

Mary

Hrm asking people to give you ideas so that you can then make a profit by submitting them to your employer. Maybe you should pay someone to come up with them for you. Maybe try watching the movie or go on a walk through and then take the ride. I can think of 15 things of the top of my head. I'm kinda surprised that someone who doesn't know the ride or movie would be responsible for designing a ball around the theme.

Do you have any budget guesstimate at all? That will definitely help narrow down my thoughts!

my first suggestion would be to go to doombuggies.com and print out death certificates for all of the guest. there is also a section there that has directions for a paper model of the haunted manision (nice decoration idea)

WendyBirdGirl - thanks for your response, not yet sure what our budget will be since we just had our first meeting. I know that will help drive what they decide to do.

Craftaholic: thank you for your great suggestion! Disboards was my first stop since I've always received great suggestions and ideas from everyone here. Will check out Doombuggies.com now that I finally have a few minutes to do so.

EVI: I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong idea. Thank You Walt Disney is not my employer. I am a volunteer for the non-profit organization that holds fundraisers (which the HMCB will be) to restore Walt's Laugh-O-Gram studio here in Kansas City. I have watched the movie (tho not one of my faves) and have been through the Haunted Mansion many, many times, so I'm not clueless. The reason I can't think of anything of the top of my head is that I'm not creative and turned to this group for anything to brainstorm about possibilities.

I am not "designing the ball", I'm just one of the volunteers trying to pull together the many details.

I don't know if the moderators will allow this link to stay in my post, but here's the web site to the organization so you can see I'm not 'out to make a profit'. http://www.thankyouwaltdisney.org/?page_id=8

Oh wow!! This sounds like so much fun. The Death Certificate would be fun. Usually around Halloween you find candy in a coffin. The last MNSSHP, they passed out stencils of Jack Skellington. They were about 4X4 in size. Birthdaypartyideas.com might have something you can use. I'm going to have to think on this! It's right up my alley.
