Send a DVD, have the same for yourself to watch and set up a 'date' where you both watch the movie at the same time, while talking on the phone (which should b preferred, but a cheaper alt may be on IM)
Most of the good ones have been posted already. I will have to say that one thing that Gabby loved years ago was that I bought a Beanie Baby kind of critter and then gave it a good dose of my cologne. I put it in a zippy bag for about 3 days, then mailed it to her. She loved that she knew what my cologne smelled like before she even got to meet me in person.
Oh, and yes, 11 years later, there is still a faint smell of my cologne left on that duck.![]()

Internet and e-mail have taken a lot of the romance out of long-distance dating. I suggest you supplement your e-mails and whatnot with the occasional hand-written message, as well as small gifts.
Almost all online retailers now offer gift wrap. Even if it's just something small like a DVD or similar, have it gift-wrapped for that little extra something. Also, get to know the florist in the home town of the person you are after![]()
My husband and I lived in 2 different countries for the entire 18 months that we were engaged...we wrote LOTS of letters, and also...
I had a photo of him (close-up shot) that I took with me everywhere. I would take pictures of myself and his photo in strange and unusual (or totally mundane) places...in the elevator at work, sitting on the couch watching the news, eating my cheerios, wherever... I would then mail the photos to him (yes, I'm old...it was pre-internet days) with silly captions. It showed him I was thinking of him every day and let a bit of my silly side show through.
How about you send a line of text - they then have to return it with another line and over the weeks a poem will emerge and it will be a joint effort![]()
