Ideas for killing a couple of hours near MCO on a weekday morning?

I'll be traveling for a girls weekend in early November, and two of us have a flight a couple of hours after the other two. Is there anything worthwhile to go see or do in the area of MCO, or should we just sit around the airport for a couple of extra hours?

I can't really think of anything in the MCO area. Are you taking a rental car together and that is why you have to sit around and wait? If you have a car and need to be close you might have time to go grab a bite to eat and come back and pick the others up. If not I would just take the shuttle or whatever to the hotel and wait for your friends there.

Oh, yes, I should have mentioned, we'll have a single rental car for the 4 of us (I suggested a second car for the weekend but got nixed...)

Thanks for clarification. Yeah there isn't much around the airport. There are a few restaurants at the airport not in the security area so you could go grab your luggage and then go grab a bite to eat so you aren't wasting any gas. The MCO airport also has a ton of stores so a lot of stuff to do. I use to drive to the airport a lot when I was a seasonal CM and I'm not instantly remembering anything close that was worth the hassle of driving to and then coming back to the airport.

Do I read your post correctly & thinking that Your flight ( Home ) is a few hours later in leaving after

the other couple . ( Wilkeliza has it the other way round )

A few hours will go fast over a cup of coffee.

Depending on which area you are in a coffee place and good chairs should be nearby .

You could drop off the people on the first flight, keep the car, and go to the new shops on Semoran north of the airport or to the Florida Mall for a little bit. Or have lunch/dunner at a restaurant north of the airport.

We've had to kill time due to delayed flights at MCO - there's lots to do. I recommend the Macaroni Grill for food and wine. Lots of shops to get your souvenir shopping done or even buy something for yourselves. There is also a day spa.

Thanks for the input everyone! I do agree that MCO is a nice airport and has plenty of amenities for killing time within the airport, but I've had plenty of opportunity for that over the years.

This is the kind of thing I was thinking about. I'm the one renting the car, so I get to chauffer everyone ;) So if we can drop off the first two curbside and then go check out something outside of the airport for an hour or so, that would be ideal.

Make sure all of your luggage is hidden if you park in a parking lot at the mall. There are a lot of shops in the airport. Just don't leave the main area (clear security) too soon. There is not as much to do once you are near the gates.
