Ideas for hotels within walking distance (but doesn't have to be right on Harbor

My daughter 20, and her BFF, 19 are looking to do a rode trip to DL in Aug. Probably Aug 9-15. They need cheap accomodations, realistically they can't pay more than $100 per night. My daughter does have an AP if anyone knows any properties that offer an AP rate.

They don't mind walking farther than those on Harbor, which is where we usually stay, but don't really want to be far enough to have to use ART. They are willing to walk probably 20-30 mins. They are young!! Haha!

I'm just not familiar with what properties fall into this category. Even the Alpine Inn and BW Pavilions were about $139/nt. Which is way more than I have seen them in the past. I don't know if the 60th is bumping up prices.

The other factor is neither one will be 21, so the hotel will have to allow that. Some of the hotels I have looked at don't make it obvious that you have to be 21, but I know some do.

I offered to go with them so we could afford more and stay closer, but, alas, they don't want their Mom tagging along. I don't know why?? :rolleyes2

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Check out Last Minute Travel Club...you can find a code via Google search...for places under $100.

A place called Stanford Inn is going for $92/nite, plus tax. Castle Inn and Suites going for $104, and others.

Why not have them drop a night and be able to afford a few more $$$ for a closer place?

LMTClub is great. There is also the Motel 6 Maingate, the one on Disney Way. It gets good reviews on this board and is probably only a 10-15 min walk.

We stayed at the Motel 6 Maingate on Disney way our first night in Anaheim. We paid $78(tax included) for the night.

There are motels on Ball Rd, just north of the parks, for less than $100/night.

Since they don't seem too picky about where they stay, they could try using a site like Priceline to place a bid. You might be surprised at what a great deal you can get. Just not sure on the over 21 part of it, might be worth looking into though.

Motel 6 Maingate! It's less than a mile away. We've stayed there 4 times, always under $100 a night and we really like it. It's not fancy, but it's a clean place to sleep and the rooms are pretty large and comfy!

Myself and three friends stayed at the Stanford Inn and Suites in December and we paid less than $100/night. It's maybe a 20 minute walk and was a perfectly good little hotel w/ continental breakfast.

One of our favorite places to stay is the Quality Inn on Katella. It's across from the Paradise Pier parking area. It's actually not a bad walk at all as they can head to the Grand and cut through. Prices should be below $100 even in July. Book now! They have a program to pay ahead and save even more. I think with any of the hotels you may need to call to find out if they'll allow under 21. They may since they are over 18 so long as they have a credit card, or you could use yours to book it. The Quality Inns all have free hot breakfasts that include egg and sausage patties plus make your own waffles. They also include fruit, yogurt, pastries, etc. It really is a great deal!
