We had already booked a cruise for Jun 2017, but have decided to do one in Feb 2017 as well when the kids have winter break. We will be leaving 2/13, so will be there for Valentine's day. I was trying to think of a cute way to give this as a gift to the kids (DS - 7; DD - 5) for Christmas. I thought about something about Mickey and Minnie loving you so much that they want to spend Valentine's Day with you.

What ideas and suggestions do you have? I tried pintrest, but a lot of what they had was surprising them on the way. And we have already done that one.

Our Elf on a Shelf is our giver of Disney cruises, but I don't know if you have one. Vixen brings them when he appears after Thanksgiving, because we cruise over Christmas vacation, but he could just as easily do it when he disappears on Christmas Eve.

We bought a little model of the ship from Disney Store online. Placed it in a box with a message in a bottle with the itinerary and wrapped it up.

We did this a few years ago and just gave the kids shirts. Part of the surprise was our neighbors were coming with us so we made matching tshirts with all our names on them, the ship, date, etc...for us all to wear on embarkation day. Once they opened the box and thought they were just getting clothes, they read it and caught on. :)

We ordered a cruise ship shaped ornament and had Disney Fantasy hand painted on the ornament. On Christmas morning we told the kids there was a present on the tree. It was fun watching them look all over the tree. The youngest was the first one to exclaim with delight that we were going on a Disney cruise!

We did this last year and printed diy tickets and put them in a suitcase with Mickey balloons, which we wrapped up for under the tree. It was a great success!

Would you want Santa to bring the gift to all of you? Get a Disney stuffie for each child and something for each of you and then a KTTW for each stuffie to give. Make it from Santa.

We made a scavenger hunt with clues hidden through the house and each clue was something they would need on the cruise and the last gift was a box of balloons with the itinerary and any info we had already been mailed by Disney.

Perhaps not for 5 and 7 yo kids but when our kids were teens we used Scrabble pieces to spell out whatever the surprise was. Depending on the number of pieces some were in their stockings, others wrapped separately. The game was to figure out what the pieces spelled. We had some great laughs at the mistakes that could be made with the letters provided. Some times it was a group present, and some years it was individual.

For small kids, I like the puzzle idea already mentioned.

It wasn't a cruise, but for a WDW trip to celebrate my grad school and my sister's college graduations, our parents gave us a trip and we officially found out (my aunt slipped, so I knew) as part of Christmas. Our parents had gotten us picture frames of Disney characters holding those acrylic things you'd slide pictures into. They had printed out "We're looking forward to seeing you at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort..." and gave the dates. It was fun, and we could put a picture from the trip in the frame afterwards.

Back in 1997 we gave the kids DCL T-shirts for Christmas that we purchased at the DCL preview center on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom. All they had was X-large but I didn't care. I wanted something from DCL and the pickings were very slim before they actually set sail on the Maiden Voyage. Back then and the next pic is from last month with their own families!! The Circle of Life on DCL!!

You could order something from the Disney Shopping site and wrap it up to surprise them with other things like sunscreen, sunglasses a beach towel, etc.

Those t-shirts are probably collector's items now. Thanks for posting the family pics. You have a lovely family. :)
