Thought I'd share this site I found..... http://pediatrics.about.com/cs/growthcharts2/l/bl_ibw_calc.htm

It has a calculator to give an estimate for an ideal weight for adults and kids and BMI. I've been concerned with my dd and it was easy to figure out for her height / weight where she should be at. I also found out that if I lose 14 more pounds I'll nolonger be overweight. My ideal goal is to lose 28.5 pounds more to give me a BMI of 22 (normal).

Well, gotta go for my walk with my dd! Good luck everyone:wave2:

Thanks so much for posting this! I've been concerned about my 10 year old, but that said she is at a healthy weight. :)

Very user-friendly link!! THANKS for posting this info for us!! :teeth:

Thank you so much for sharing this link!

I used it for myself and I'm happy that this calculator talks about a "healthy" weight versus just the "ideal" weight for your height. I had a number in my head for my goal weight and now I see I may need to adjust my goal down about 15 pounds. That's a bit depressing but I'm committed to getting myself at a healthy weight so I'll just buckle down and take this journey the way I have been, which is one day and one meal at a time.

Thanks again for the link. It helped me so much! :)

Thanks for the link. DS is at a healthy weight for his height, 26% I think. As for me, I am still in the "overweight" category, I need to lose 8 more pounds to fall into "normal". I started as "obese", so I am happy to just be "overweight" now and once I lose these final 10 pounds (13 ideally) I will be "normal"....I haven't been "normal" in years and years and years so I am looking forward to it!

Thanks for the linky
put in my start weight prior losing before wish
and now and BMI has gone from morbidly obese to severely obese
now 32 lbs to just plain obese
33 more lbs to just overweight
and 33 more lbs to get to the highest end of normal weight
98 lbs total to go OH BOY that's alot

Thanks so much for this link. I was just getting to the point of being discouraged after a couple months of really working at changing my eating and exercise habits. Now I am more encouraged when I see I really have made progress.
Thanks so much!

Thanks so much for posting that link. I had not set a goal weight; just figured I'd know it when I got there. :teeth: But, I did, sorta, have a number in the back of my mind, and surprisingly, the number they gave me was a bit higher. I liked they how they talked about a "healthy" weight vs. everything being geared to your height.

I think I'll go to back and do what someone else did . . . see where I was when I started low carb, compared to where I am, now. Oughta be interesting.
