id issue?

Does anyone know what they require for Passports/Birth Certificates that don't match current photo ID names? My wife's former husband died and she still uses his last name, but that's not the name on either her passport or birth certificate . So, do we need to bring the previous marriage certificate and all supporting documentation to show how the name got from her passport name to current name, or do they just take our word for it?

My passport does not match my ID so I always take a copy of my marriage liscense. I don't recall if they checked it for the cruise but they have checked it at some other places. It is in German and no one can read it anyway but they can see where the names are and that seems to do the trick. I just keep it all together in an envelope.
