Iconic Kermit the Frog Balloon is on it's way out!

I'm not sad to see it go honestly (though I was never a Muppet fan). Hoping for a good replacement.

Replacement? It's a balloon. They aren't replacing the attraction just getting rid of a small balloon that sits on top of a building.

Correct, but it's become an icon as a decoration, just like the Mouse Ear water tower. Perhaps there is something in the works to replace it was all my post was suggesting.

Nope it's being removed because it will be seen from Star Wars land which Disney doesn't want.

I am more excited for Star Wars immersive theming, than I am upset about the Kermit balloon taken down.
Maybe it will find a new home in the future.
I am glad they are growing Hollywood Studios.

I wish they would quit destroying everything from the past to make way for the future. New things are certainly needed but many of the old ones that they are destroying were also well-liked and respected icons of WDW. This may not be the one that I hate seeing leave the most but it certainly just another example of how they are destroying the past.

No I don't think I have enough pictures of it yet!!! Hopefully it gets reused
Ok come to think about are tall things allowed in this park? Will tower or the Chinese theater go as well because I see them every corner of the park almost

I agree that we should remember and appreciate the past (one reason I love One Man's Dream) and do hope the balloon finds a new home - but at the same time Walt himself said the parks aren't museums and I think just losing the balloon to preserve the impressiveness of Star Wars Land is worth it .... especially with how they have added Muppets elsewhere

It's going to be muppets courtyard, I think it's more fitting now that before. I do hope they are thinking of moving it more forward maybe after they do whatever is planned for star tours as I cna't see that staying there with the rest of star wars on the other side of muppets (but can see them wrapping around to it on the other side.)

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I don't remember that balloon ever being touted as the icon of the entire park like the Earful Tower was. To me, it doesn't really make sense to have it there anyways, regardless of sight lines. Was that how they were supposed to have arrived at the lab? Nothing is every mentioned or referenced in the movie. Realistically they can just build a wacky car that's crashed into the side of the building. But realistically, why spend the money?

I find it really hard to work myself up into a lather about this one. They just added a whole Muppet-themed restaurant, so it's not like those characters are lacking in representation. You could almost paint the balloon on the side of a building in that area and have the same effect of it actually being there.

It's different for everyone. I know I myself found Tower of Terror much more of an icon for HS than the ear tower ever was, however that is just my personal opinion. Fans of the Muppets may look at the balloon as an icon - I know members of my family who did. It's all subjective, however not so much so that it should cause any sort of debate.
