Icelandic volcano

I realize the volcano is having quite an impact on European airlines, and airlines across the world for that matter. But from what I read, it appears as though all other aspects of life are business as usual.

I started wondering about something today, what affect will the ash have on agriculture in Europe? Specifically the vineyards? Oh NO...the vineyards...will the ash damage them? Or change the soil in some way. Perhaps it will be helpful, perhaps harmful. Let's hope the wine is spared..!
