I *HIGHLY* recommend doing The Reykjavik Food Walk. It's a *really* great way to see a lot of Reykjavik while hearing about it's history and culture from a local, plus eating A TON of excellent local food! I found it an excellent way to start my trip.

I also recommend seeing a show at the Harpa Music Hall. It's walking distance from the
ABD hotel (well, I guess it depends on your definition of walking distance, but I found it easily walkable). I saw a 2-person comedy show called "Icelandic Sagas", and it was an extremely funny (although slightly off-color humor) that explained the history of Iceland as based on their written historical sagas. It's a really intimate venue. They have other shows there, too.

Lastly, I had a *LOT* of fun doing a Viking photo session, and having photos taken as a Viking. I thought the photos came out great!

I'll have to re-look at the packing list to see what was & wasn't included. You definitely need waterproof hiking shoes, a waterproof jacket, and some sort of waterproof pant (I had a really light pair that slipped on over the pants I was wearing). You mostly need this for the hike around Seljalandsfoss. And, as always, LAYERS!
