Good morning! We leave for our Iceland ABD in a little over a week. We are also planning on staying over for 4 more days and I'm wondering if anyone can share some "must-do" adventures that weren't included on the tour. Also, anything we need that is not included on the packing list?

I think there have been some threads here about the trip that might be helpful to look through. We are going next summer and would love to hear your thoughts when you get back.

I *HIGHLY* recommend doing The Reykjavik Food Walk. It's a *really* great way to see a lot of Reykjavik while hearing about it's history and culture from a local, plus eating A TON of excellent local food! I found it an excellent way to start my trip.

I also recommend seeing a show at the Harpa Music Hall. It's walking distance from the ABD hotel (well, I guess it depends on your definition of walking distance, but I found it easily walkable). I saw a 2-person comedy show called "Icelandic Sagas", and it was an extremely funny (although slightly off-color humor) that explained the history of Iceland as based on their written historical sagas. It's a really intimate venue. They have other shows there, too.

Lastly, I had a *LOT* of fun doing a Viking photo session, and having photos taken as a Viking. I thought the photos came out great!

I'll have to re-look at the packing list to see what was & wasn't included. You definitely need waterproof hiking shoes, a waterproof jacket, and some sort of waterproof pant (I had a really light pair that slipped on over the pants I was wearing). You mostly need this for the hike around Seljalandsfoss. And, as always, LAYERS!

Love your Mink portrait! We did portraits as a family, and individuals. It was so much fun, and we have fabulous pictures to remind us of our trip.

I'll second the food walk, also.

Now I want to go just for the viking photos. LOL.
That is awesome!
