Iced tea on the Dream

I am not a coffee drinker, but I love brewed iced tea (not the kind out of the soda dispenser). I am guessing the MDRs serve brewed tea, but I wondered if there was tea available up on the top decks with all the other beverages? Is there any kind of coffee counter on the Dream that might also have Chai tea? Looking to have easy access to several cups of caffeine in the morning

Thank you!

They have several flavors of Twinings teas at the drink stations. I love chamomile at night but brew my own iced tea during the day. I think they have a chai tea but am not 100% on that. My favorite is the Blackcurrant Breeze. I usually brew a couple cups of that to add to my 24 oz insulated cup full of ice, makes great iced tea.

I believe @PrincessShmoo has a pic of the tea offerings available on board. Enjoy your cruise.

Thank you!! I have brewed my own before in a pinch, so glad to know there is that option.

They have many Twinning flavors at the drinking station and Cabanas (I had Chai) ... But if you are a bit more picky with tea (like me) for a little extra $, they have a great selections at the Cove Cafe.

For chai tea, there may be some as one of the Twinings varieties at the drink station. The Cove Cafe and Vista Cafe have both presweetened Chai Latte mix (like Big Train; it may even be that one, I've never asked) as well as premium loose Masala Chai tea that can be brewed. I prefer the loose Masala Chai and customizing with steamed milk and honey to my taste.

Do any of you tea drinkers know whether the hot water for tea on the Disney ships is free of coffee contamination? The reason I ask is that many restaurants pull the hot water from their coffee systems or use carafes that previously held coffee.

I'm always leery of ordering tea at coffee shops or restaurants for this reason...

The hot water comes out of the side of the coffee dispenser, like the large Bunn coffee makers at work. It is its own spigot thing that comes straight from the water source, not mixed w/ coffee.

I really hope that makes sense.

You can also order free brewed iced tea from room service. This last cruise I started to do that and it was great. I didn't get to the point of asking for a carafe but I was close! Our awesome asst server told us that room service had the same brewed tea as the dining rooms so I started to order from there also. I am also known to take a full glass of ice tea from the dining room either during lunch or dinner. The bars or room steward will take your empty glass back to the kitchen.

I never thought to do that! I usually pack a box of the Twinings cold brew tea bags with me and pop a couple of bags in when I fill up a water bottle at the drink station.

So smart!!!!! Thank you so very much!!!!

I frequently take an early morning walk on the Promenade Deck while DW sleeps in, then make hot tea to enjoy on the veranda while she joins the living.

Later I switch to ice tea, brewing my own at the drink station. I make hot tea in one of the cups at the drink station and let it steep a few minutes, fill up a Tervis style mug with ice and pour the tea over it. This lasts me a good hour before I need to repeat the process. I don't mind going back to the drink station to do it as it gives me a chance to stretch my legs.

I hate coffee flavored tea but have yet to have that experience on board. The water comes out of a spigot on the coffee dispenser, but the water is heated in a separate reservoir or line so it doesn't become contaminated.

More great info, thanks!! Glad so to have experienced cruiser input!

Agreed, coffee flavored tea is just the worst!

Thanks for the information and tips! I will definitely give the hot tea and brewed ice tea a try on my upcoming cruise.

Do they also have the tea out of the dispensers, like Gold Leaf (which they have at WDW)? I can drink gallons of the unsweet gold leaf as I have given up soda.

The iced tea from at the soda station is not the Gold Peak the they have at WDW,but is Fuze brand. I much prefer the brewed tea from the MDRs
