Ice Sage...

I grew up in Portland, Oregon (don't live there now), but your pictures took me back. We would get some terrific ice storms. One storm left us without power for days. Hope that's not the case for you.

Great pictures!

Very nice. We had a small ice storm in the past couple days and I've been tempted to head out and take a couple photos, but the temps have been a little chilly for my tastes! Funny how that happens when there's ice out there... :confused3

I also haven't touched my DSLR since we returned (it still has a memory card with a bunch of photos on it), but my sensor cleaning kit arrives tomorrow so I'll have to drag it out then!

Thanks - WE did NOT lose power, because nearly all trees that needed a mother nature pruning, received it during an atypical snow storm on October 13th. The weight of the snow on all the leaves (which had not begun to fall at that point) snapped so many branches that they had to import clean-up support from all over the country.

I live near Buffalo - so we shared the same ice storm. Atypical in that most ice storms melt same day, so the window of photo opportunity is only a few hours. We still have the ice 4 days later!

I was going to ask if you lived near Buffalo when you mentioned the October snowstorm.

Beautiful photos!

I also took non-miscroscopic pictures, but it didn't capture the glistening, glittering, shimmering beauty that the eye can see - so I didn't post them. There must be something I can adjust on the camera, but I haven't discovered it yet. This is the first photo opportunity that the digital camera didn't capture what my eye was seeing. More to learn!!

What kind of camera do you use?
