Ice Storm '08

A little of the damage from my neck of the woods. We made out quite well compared to others. We had no power for 2 days- the house was 50º when we got up Sat a.m.- the worst part was we got water in the basement and with no power the sump pumps were of no use- luckily the rain stopped and we only got 1" of water down there and our brand new furnace is up on blocks. Hopefully the rest of you fellow New Englanders are warm and safe. Some will be without power for up to 2 more weeks

YIKES!!!!!!!!!!! so glad to hear you made out okay. I hate ice storms. We are having a wintry mix right now

Glad to hear things werent worse for you. I would almost rather get 2 feet of snow than an ice storm, those are the worst. I am in southcentral Pennsylvania and ours started out as sleet and freezing rain but that only last about an hour then turned to all snow. We only got about an 1" overall so we are sighing with relief here.

I'm glad all is OK... I don't like ice either
We didn't have it like you did in NE, but I had enough at my house to split a tree...whhich then fell on my car

This is why I live in Florida. I know we have hurricanes, but at least we have warning to get out. LOL
