We're going this week while we're in Orlando. I know it's cold!! So, we'll dress accordingly. But my question is regarding the kids' section with the slides. Should they be wearing some type of water resistant clothing so their pants don't end up soaked! I've never been around snow and ice, lived in Florida all my life, but my DH says they won't because it's so cold that the ice won't be melting. Makes sense, I guess. Any opinions?

I won tickets to ICE and a free night at Gaylord Palms last year. I used to live in Buffalo, NY so I know what cold is, but it had been 9 years since I had experienced that kind of cold. Man, it was FREEZING!!! Take gloves, a scarf to cover your face and tissues. Most people, including us, had runny noses from the cold.

They give you long, heavy parkas to wear. DH said he was going to tough it out and just wear the jacket he brought, but everyone coming out told him he was nuts so he decided to borrow a parka and he was really glad he did. These coats are long enough to cover your butt and if I remember correctly I think they go down to your knees. I don't remember DS or myself getting wet when we went down the slides.

We won enough tickets so we could go through ICE twice. The second time I made DS wear his PJ's under his clothes, like long underwear. He said it was much better that way. BTW, it was really cold outside that weekend so we took our heavy jackets with us. We wore those under the parkas.

My camera got so cold that it stopped working. Try to keep yours inside your parka when you're not using it.

Thanks, helps a bunch. I wondered if the parkas might be long enough, so it sounds like they are.

I had planned to let the kids wear their PJ Pals under their clothes, and I think we've got gloves around here somewhere. Guess I'll have to look for some scarves.

Parkas are more than enough. We had a wonderful time last year. It was beautiful. You all will have a terrific time!

I wouldn't go out of your way to buy scarves, but if you already had them they would be helpful. We didn't have any with us, but if I had known how cold it was going to be I would've brought the ones we already had.

It's awesome, we live less than 5 minutes from it. Your pants will not get wet from the ice, the parkas are long enough to cover them. This will be our third year going! :)
